the baby when I am on the plane.It is only a 3 hour trip.I have to hold her on my lap so I thought that thing would be good at least while we are walking around the gate area and stuff.

If you're talking about a stroller, yeah it's a good idea. On most airlines you can check them at the door of the airplane when you board and they'll have it available for you when you get off the plane.
