  1. Are you serious just becausè of his bad outing against the O´s he should retire. No!!!!! He doesnt do good against the O´s nor the Red sox just those 2 teams he has done terribke this year but that doesnt mean he should retire i mean every pitcher has some teams that are just tough for them to beat.

  2. Moose had one bad night. Kyle Farnsworth has had a lifetime of them, and no one's telling him to shut it down (unfortunately).

  3. h**l NO!! mussina has atleast two more years left. hes really good and he should play a few more years to get up there in the wins column

  4. Don't think so.  One bad night & he has 13 wins this season.  He may not be as good as he once was but he is still an asset to the Yankees be helpful for them to make a chase at the play offs

  5. It looked like it at the beginning of the season, but he's really proven himself to be a top pitcher in this league.

  6. In a few years, but not now, he could win the Cy Young this year.

  7. no he has to win a title but hes a curse so it wont happen

  8. yes hes 39 years old but hes still having a great season. 13 Wins is T-2nd in the league and his 3.56 ERA is better than alott of other big name starters and a 1.23 WHIP is still good too

he had a bad night and im guessing you dont watch more than 5 baseball games a year if you think he should retire after one bad performance

  9. Why  1bad outing doesn't mean anything , last year they were saying the same, i think Moose will bounce back

  10. This is a joke right?  He has 13 wins.  He is a Cy Young contender.  He has shocked every na sayer in baseball.  He has had one bad outing in the last, I don't know how many.

In the last 4 outings.  Why don't you try watching some more baseball instead of looking at a big score and then pretending to think you know what you are talking about...

  11. I remember this discussion a year ago when Mussina had a couple of terrible outings.  He has pitched well this season.  Sometimes a certain team just happens to have a certain pitchers number.  The O's have Mussina's.  Don't forget, The Moose had gone 7-2 with a 2.66 ERA between his two loses to the O's.  I don't think he should be thinking about retiring just because he had a bad outing.

  12. Granted he had a HORRIBLE night last night, no, even with last night counting his ERA is pretty low, and lately his braking balls have been dropping more than they ever have.

  13. Hmm.  So you think hes done?  It could be one of two things.  He could have been done last year and the beginning of this year was an aberration.  OR,  the end of last year was an aberration and this past game was also.  Only time will tell, only time will tell.

  14. I dont want him to but yes, he cant throw fast anymore, and he leaves his pitches in the zone where batters can hit

  15. Last year, I thought so, but this year he's made a believer out of me.  He's in great shape, he's effective, and he has an outside chance at 300 wins if he can keep going.  I say let him try.

  16. Let's get real. One bad outing does not spell the end of a career.

  17. you are dumber then red sox fans..

  18. No

  19. He has only had two bad outings in the last few months, I think he will be alright the rest of the year.  At the end of the season he is a free agent and will have to decide if he would like to continue but right now I would think that with the success that he has had this season he will more than likely give it a nother few year sbefore he retires.  He was never an over powering pitcher but now he is slowing in speed but has instead has been locating pitches better this year and is learning how to pitch well with a deteriorating pitch set...I would not expect a news conference any time soon for him to announce his retirement.

  20. Regardless of what his stats are, if there's a team willing to pay him millions per year to do something he loves, why would he retire?

  21. This year he's pitching well. He may want to wait for a year when he's not.

  22. I say no.

If your pitches are still effective,if you're still winning games (he's on the verge of becoming a 20-game winner),then no.

There are only 2 possible reasons as to why he would retire from baseball:

    1. He either doesn't care for the game anymore or

    2. He doesn't have any of the game in him and no more passion for it.

I believe he still wants to play baseball, wants to become a 20-game winner, and wants to be able to put up HOF numbers so he could eventually be in the Hall.

  23. No

because Moose is having a great season.

He gonna retire probably in the 42-44??
