Do you think its fair that employers use credit reports to decide whether they'll hire you or not?

One exception to me is the finance field.

  1. Absolutely!  I wouldn't let someone handle money or merchandise when they're in a position to steal.  Plus law enforcement, they can do whatever they want, can you imagine someone with a gun having access to your property?

If you have bad credit you are more likely of a risk to embezzle, steal, drink, do drugs, etc.  This is why some companies run credit reports on potential employees.  They did the same thing on me when I filed for a security clearance.  I'm more likely to sell government secrets if I am desperate for money.

  6. Yeah, for some company's I think it's pretty stupid. Did you know that football/basketball cheerleaders have to have good credit to cheer for the team? LOL!
