things always take longer than you plan for them to. try at least half a year, ideally one year.

dont do this in a hurry, just look into your other half's eyes and remember why you're marrying him. is this once in a lifetime chance something you want to organize on a tight schedule?

Sure!  You can do it...the problem is if anyone is available...location, caterer, officiant, DJ, photographer.  All these people book about a year in advance.  So you're going to have a settle for second best in some cases.

Have it on Friday or Sunday instead of Saturday.  It's more likely that there will be availabilities and it will also be cheaper.

Consider having a short reception with cake and snacks instead of a meal.

Go to a flower shop and just order bouquets...don't even tell them it's for a wedding.

Look for a reception site that is all inclusive so you have less to coordinate yourself (food, drink, rentals).

Print the invites yourself...NOW!

It sure is.  I planned mine in just under 8 weeks.  The wedding was this past Saturday and everything was great, it couldn't have been better.

Yes!  I knew a couple who needed to have their wedding done in two months because the mother of the bride was going to pass away soon, and they were completely successful.... it was beautiful, wasn't tacky, and everyone had an awesome time!  She needed a lot of help, but she didn't have a professional wedding planner.  The Ceremony had like 300 people attending (they kept it open to all), and the reception was around 150-200 people.
