  1. There's been 19,000 List A matches and no bowler has taken 9 wickets nevermind 10 so I would say it's highly unlikely.

As for Colly/Rammy I'll use stats for obvious reasons. In Tests Collingwood averages more than Sarwan and is one of the few modern players who hasn't been able to feed off the bowling of Bangladesh/Zimbabwe. Collingwood also has an edge in the bowling stakes and is one of the best fielders currently.

In ODIs Sarwan's added talent shines through he averages 10 runs more with a slightly superior strike-rate although Colly once again is a better bowler and fielder. However Sarwan's record suggests his legspin is underused.

So in Tests: Collingwood >> Sarwan

and in ODIs: Collingwood < Sarwan

    Overall: Collingwood > Sarwan

  2. well its possible for it to happen, but the chances are remote, but if a guy like Tanvir can pick up 6 in a T20, then why couldnt someone pick up 10 in a one day game, also it may be worth having a glance over the womens cricket records to see if it as happened over there, maybe its has and most people have forgotten, sort of like Belinda Clark's 229 in an ODI

second question, i would say Collingwood is a more complete player in all forms of the game, Sarwan is probably more talented, but Collingwood is more complete as a player

  3. yer it is possible...you'd have to be playing against a crappy team..and have a killer delivery or playing on the wickedest pitch. It would take a lot of effort. I hope to see it happen one day..against Australia would be tough.

Once again Paul Collingwood would have to be the better player he is a superb player and well-known, he's guided England through some of the tough times.

  4. its possible , but i doubt it happen

  5. i think the chances will be in the ratio 1:100000,,,,,,,,

    anyway............

between Ramnaresh Sarwan and Paul Collingwood,,

    i's choose Paul Collingwood.........

  6. It is very very possible. If Sri Lanka plays Afghanistan of USA or Hong Kong, Murali or Vaas will do it.

As for the better player, I would pick Paul Collingwood, because he not only bats well, but also fields superbly, can bowl handy medium pace and has even taken a 5-wicket haul!

  7. Of course.It is possible.

Chaminda Vaas came very close to it.He has taken 8 wickets in an odi match.

It's not easy to do this but this can be done.

    Sarwan is the better batsman.

    Collingwood is the better player.

  8. I think it is possible..

There is nothing impossible in Cricket..

And i actually like Collingwood and Sarwan both...sorry cant choose. Both are decent and good cricketers and captains.

    Oh and i'm 14 and obsessed with cricket especially LANKA and it is possible that Murali, Vaas, Malinga or Dilhara can get the10 wickets thats if all of them bowls like Malinga in the World Cup where he got 4 wickets in 4 balls against South Africa {where he wasn't awarded man of the match or even given credit}

  9. yes only muthiah Muralitharan buddy

  10. ya......its always possible but hard

  11. i agree with bingalee and sirkiwijoey

  12. Of course it's possible, I mean players have gotten 8 wickets before in an ODI (Vass got 8-19 against Zimbabwe a few years ago) so it's entirely conceivable that a player could get 10.

However I think it would depend on the weakness of the opposition team and the strength of the bowler. I think you'd be more likely to get a 10 wicket ODI haul against a team like Bangladesh or Zimbabwe than against England and Australia (or any team of that standing). And while I think it's possible I'm not sure it'll happen any time soon.

About who is the better player? I'm not sure I could judge accurately to be honest as I've only seen Sarwan play a few times and none of those was recently.

  13. This happens regularly in my dreams mate. I see Warne or Lee taking the whole Indian team on & coming out with 10 beautiful wkts. But now im awake and I say no.

  14. Of course. It is possible if its no ones day except yours. Anil Kumble has done it in a test match, then why not in ODI's? Paul Collingwood is a better player.

  15. I would say it's unlikely. Given that he only has 10 overs/60 balls, he would have to be Murali, Lee, Warne all rolled into one! lol. You'll give yourself grey hair worrying about these things KooKee! lol

  16. Second question first: Collingwood by a mile - he's an underrated player who does not get the credit he deserved. In interviews, he's not afraid to call a spade a spade, which is an admirable quality.

First question second: Its possible, but highly improbable. It would take one helluva bowling spell, but one day its bound to happen even if it is a couple of hundred years away.

  17. Nothing is impossible in cricket dude

when australian team scored 435 runs against S.Africa nobody expected that S.Africa will chase that huge total with 1 ball to spare

any miracle can happen in cricket

and in my openion Sarwan is a better player in ODI and P collingwood in test

    Sarwan's ODI rank: 18

    Sarwan's Test rank: 22

    P Collingwood's ODI rank: 21

    P Collingwood's test rank: 20

you can see the graphical analasys on

    http://www.lgiccrankings.com/test/player...

    and

    http://www.lgiccrankings.com/odi/player-...

  18. collingwood,paul

  19. Every thing is possible - mathematically. The probability of such

a record is highly remote - but possible. We saw Sohail Tanvir

getting 6 wickets off 4 overs, and if one goes by this logic there

is a possibility of all 10 wkts taken by a bowler.

But given the chances of how the game is played these days

in ODI, it is very unlikely - even when conditions favor a bowler.

Colly is better player than Sarwan. He is a better batsman

    and useful bowler as well.
