Do you think its possible to get my ny license if i reside in nj?

i have a house in upstate ny and i really would rather get my ny license because you get it 6 months earlier than in nj. i can provide proof of address and all that but the thing is is that i go to school in nj so idk. does anyone know what i could do or what steps would need to be taken?

  1. No, you can only get a license in a state you reside in.  Having an address in another state doesn't make you a resident.  If you are unsure of what state you reside in, it's easy to determine.  What state do you pay taxes in?


  2. You haven't even started driving yet and you are looking for ways to break the law. This does not speak well for your maturity. I hope you will wait until you are a little more grown up before you start driving.

  3. You have to prove 90 days residency to be eligible for a NY license.  If you already applied for your NJ permit forget about it because all states share information now.
