I have sold tickets on ebay, and I have bought tickets on ebay (not for the same events :-)

make sure the person has the tickets, not just a promise of tickets.

I have heard of people who buy on ebay. well in advance of the tickets being printed, then, when they don't arrive at the expected time, so much time has passed that it is too late to file a claim with paypal or ebay.

Pay by paypal (so you're protected if they never arrive - as long as the claim is within 45 days of payment)... It is up to the seller to make sure that they get delivered, so it is up to them to ensure the tickets are sent recorded delivery.

check the sellers feedback - in detail - some sellers buy lots of 1p e-books just to get their feedback score up. If your seller has done this, it's likely he is about to pull some sort of scam.

as long as you use common sense, and use paypal, it is safe

SUPER SAFE - I always buy tix on Ebay and they have a very strict policy to even sell online. Just be sure when you log on to search under tickets/events and not a miscellanous category and if you haven't already, sign up for a PayPal account as most sellers on Ebay require that to purchase online. It's all a very secure server.  Good luck!!!

Make sure of the seller's history and their % of positive feedback, 90% and up, and read the comments, it'll make you feel more at ease when you purchase the tickets.

Check their feedbacks and make sure they are reliable. Also check to see if they have a picture of the tickets taken by themselves and not an image that they have just downloaded. If you are careful and use common sense then yes it is safe. I myself have sold festival tickets on it that I was unable to attend and so I know personally that there are honest ebayers out there!
