Do you think its safe to run at night here?

Right then, I live in a fairly populated (although not urban) area with a dirt road, and a man was mauled by a bear near where I live. I'm wondering if it is safe to run at night? Do bears sleep at night?

i suggest not to run at night.. just buy a treadmill

bear are ofte nocturnal thus very active in the evening but if you wear bright reflective clothing scout out your course prior to evening and run while there is still some light you will be just fine...happy running
