i work at a $7.00/hr job full time for 3 years. no raises, no benefits, no sick days, no vacation. someone on my shift just quit so they wake me up telling me i have to come in after i had slept 3 hours in the last 2 days. on one my original days off they tried to get me to come in and i said i'm sorry i can't. so they pay someone almost double to come in. i am working the rest of the week and all next week and will not get paid anymore for it. they know i am always willing to help out so they take advantage of it. it has gotten to the point i'm changing my number. do you think its time for me to move on?

  1. what are waiting for :), so if they are not able to consider you 'someone' and gives you your minimum right, you should consider yourself someone and get a job where you can happy, get vacation and know your value and appreciate your work :)

  2. Yes, you need to leave as soon as you have a new job.  If you are in the US it is not legal to not pay you.  Document any work you do for free, find a new job, and turn your company in to your local labor board.

    Good luck!
