A few weeks ago I have received an email from the TOYOTA INTERNATIONAL LOTTO (HEADQUARTERS)

Customer Service Department Affiliate of Toyota Japan that I won the sum of US$500,000, 00

in cash, including a Toyota car which is the winning present /amount for the

Second category winners. This is from the total prize money of US$12,650,000.00

shared among the international winners in the Second category.

I have sent them my details such as my home address and phone # but I don't believe that's it's real since I read an article from the following website that it's a fake. Therefore, if in some point, they will ask my bank account, I won't give it to them for sure. http://419.bittenus.com/TOYOTAINTERNATIONALLOTTO/index.htm

So what do you think, is the whole thing real?

Thanks.

  1. Heck no. Nobody just gives you money for no reason especially if you haven't even entered a sweepstakes with them.

  2. No, it's either a scam to steal your id, money, and credit or some kind of sales pitch that you need to attend to get  something that's worth far less than a half mill.

  3. OK, this is clearly NOT TRUE, and it is a SCAM. If you see more emails like this, it is a scam to steal your money, identity, etc. I think it's too late, you already gave them your address. Or, it could be ok... It would be best to NOT share any more information or your going down! :[

    Sorry for the harshness. :[

  4. No. Identity thieves start off with basic info about someone and then build on that, testing credit ratings etc to glean more info here and there. Even amateurs can send letters to themselves with the address in pencil, then erase it and ink in someone else's name and address, using the postmarked letter as 'proof' of the other person's identity. Primitive, but at least it can work for starters.

    SO NO MORE INFO!

  5. This is a scam. I sure hope you didn't share any personal info or you're screwed. ♥ ∞

  6. NO!  Don't give them any more of your information.  You probably would have remembered entering to win a car.. If you don't enter you can't win.  A lot of scams originate overseas because there is no law enforcement agency to deal with them.  Your bank will be no help to you, if your account is scammed by someone in another country.

  7. No it's not true. I get all kinds of emails like that .I just report it as spam..here's a site to check emails like that to see if they are scams.
