  2. No, because the DU is later released into the environment in the form of dust, which creates a worse environmental hazard than if it had been dumped in a landfill.

    There are many much greener uses for DU that do not result in it being released into the environment. For example, DU is often used as ballast/counterbalance material in aircraft because its density means that it doesn't take up much space. When used as ballast the DU is contained and is not released into the environment.

  3. Yes - It's better than having all that depleted uranium taking up space in our landfills!
