No, because the DU is later released into the environment in the form of dust, which creates a worse environmental hazard than if it had been dumped in a landfill.

There are many much greener uses for DU that do not result in it being released into the environment. For example, DU is often used as ballast/counterbalance material in aircraft because its density means that it doesn't take up much space. When used as ballast the DU is contained and is not released into the environment.
