Do you think its weird for a 8th grader to be...?

5'9 and what is your first impression when you see a girl whos 5'9 & do you think 5'9 is tall?

Not weird at all.  LOL, I'm only 4'11" (and have been since the 5th grade) so anyone over 5' is tall to me. :)

I had friends in Jr. High that were 5'5" and taller, so it's not that unusual.

Im going into the 6th grade and Im 5 foot. She must just be short. It's not a big deal. I hope this helped.

In junior high, girls tend to be taller than boys...

girls develop faster... i remember i was taller than all the boys... then the boys start to grow, and you stop...

it's normal... don't worry about it... might be a little awkward right now... but in a couple of years it'll even out.

sure i think it's tall - but i don't think it's "weird." some of the tallest girls in school ended up being very average heights once they stopped growing. some girls who i never viewed as tall ended up being super tall (like 5'11, 6') you just never know. one thing i do think is weird is when tall girls try to hunch over and make themselves small. it just looks uncomfortable. as hard as it may be stand tall and proud - anyone who does this is automatically beautiful in my eyes - no matter what their height!

I'm 5'9" and have been since high school, I would consider myself a little tall, but I have seen many women much taller.

when i see someone like that my first impression is pretty much the same as the one i have of everyone else at first, ' i wonder what they are like?'

As a girl who reached her full height of 5'11 1/2" in the 9th grade, I can tell you firsthand that it's not easy being the tallest one in the class (or even your grade).  Girls definitely grow faster than boys but they do eventually catch up.  You can't let it bother you too much.  What's the alternative?  You can't shorten yourself.

I am just about 6 foot, and going into tenth grade. She is shorter than I was.

Well, I was 5'9' in 8th grade, and yep, I was taller than practically all the guys. Most do catch up around 16 or 17 though. While, 5'9' is on the taller side for a girl, it's still considered average height.

All I can say my friend is own it. I'm an inch taller than my husband, and it's no big deal. He says, "You can't have the tall, s**y, leggy wife without the tall part, or else it will look weird."
