At my work one of the ladies had a baby and she brings her in twice a week for the whole day, except the baby just sits in the pram ALL day. I never see her out of the pram, occasionally if i hold her. but it seems so boring. shouldnt she be playing or something? i find it a bit strange. although we are at work, she doesnt even get cuddled or held, and she just sleeps whenever. shouldnt there be a routine?? by the way the baby is 10 weeks

  1. That is horrible. She needs to be cuddled, loved, played with, and talked to. Does she go all day without eating? How does she get fed if not held? If she props the bottle, that is dangerous. She could get choked. I'd say something to the mom, she needs a sitter or something. That is not right at all.

  2. Do you watch the woman all day long?  How are you getting your work done if you're watching this woman all day long to check and see when her baby is being held or not?  I think you might be exaggerating.

The baby must get fed, right?

If the baby is quiet then the baby is content.  Don't mess with a contented baby.  That's my rule!  If her baby were crying then wouldn't she be asked to take the baby home?  I doubt people would put up with a crying baby in an office... so she must be giving her more stimulation than you're letting on.

Unless you watch her all day long then you don't know exactly what's going on with her.  Besides, what's wrong with sleeping whenever she wants?  Why should there be a routine?  I didn't have my twins on a routine at that age.

Mind your own P's and Q's in my opinion.

  3. Yes i think it's wrong just to leave a baby in it's pram all day long.

    Poor kid.

I don't think she really needs a routine at 10 weeks, but definitely needs a bit more attention.

  4. If she is only 10 weeks old she doesn't need a routine, but a little love wouldn't hurt the poor thing. How could someone not want to hold their little baby? That hurts my heart. Also, at 10 weeks she should be held and laying on her tummy, so she can build neck muscle. Do you think when the mom is at home she holds her baby, just not at work? That's really sad though.

  5. at 10 weeks babies are in need of stimulation and growth exercises, this is a crucial time in their lives and the fact that the mother is not holding the baby shows a severe lack of care for this child's welfare, my suggestion is that you go buy one of those $2 toys from a store and give it to the baby that way she has something to do to be stimulated and also tell the mother politely to just keep that toy and a few other toys there for her daughter to play with so that she is entertained.
