Do you think its wrong for my mom to not let me drive with one of my 16 year old friends?

my mom is like "just because you're friends are turning 16, i hope you know that you will not e allowed to just go places with them"

i said "mom, only with chrissy and kate. they have both had their permits for 2 years and are good drivers"

my mom:

'I dont care you are not riding with them"

me:

"what if you go in the car with them and see how well they drive? they said they would d that"

"you heard what i said"

is she being stupid? my friends and i are very responsible. and they both are really good drivers. and part of the reason i was looking forwhem turning 16 was so they could drive me instead of me always asking my mom for a ride

no, she's just being a mother. mine was the same way, i couldn't go anywhere except for school and wal mart. ( i got my license in February, and I'm still 16) trust me no matter how good of a driver anyone is, an accident can always happen, also it takes time to become a real driver. having a permit is different from having a license. with a license you are by yourself and you do whatever !

You and your friends are 16 years old. Every year in this county hundreds of teenagers are killed and maimed in accidents because they think they are good drivers but are not.

Many states now have laws either raising the driving age or limiting the number of people under 18 that can be in the car with a new driver.

You mom does not want you to become a statistic.

Mothers usually like the fact of their kids not asking them for rides everywere...But mothers are very cautious and scared. they dont want their babies dying from one of their friends being stupid or not paying attention. To me mothers just dont want to lose what they cherish.

well,i havent heard that any of them have drivers licenses so if they dont then you shouldnt go with them.when they do it is okay.your mom is just being a worrywart.it aint wrong cuz thats just her nature.

She's just concerned about y'all having too much fun and then not paying attention,or just acting stupid.I knew some one who,for the first time,let her daughter ride with a friend and they got in a bad car wreck.If you and your friends have not given a reason for this than ya that would be stupid
