  1. absolutely on school nights, midnight on the weekends.

  2. no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Are you everyone's mother.

Are you calling for government intervention?

  4. My daughter is 15 and she stays up MOST nights till 10:30 ( though bedtime is OFFICIALLY 10.oo) .. .

However on  weekend ( ie fri/sat )nights she can stay up till one or two .. in the morning ....

she has NEVER been a person that required much sleep to functiom.

If they have left school and are working I think they can decide for themselves .. IF they are still going to school .. I think there should be a set bedtime( with half an hour's grace )

  5. No!!! 16yrsold have freedom.

  6. my 11.5 year old has a ten pm bedtime. at sixteen, i will say 11 pm so school work would not suffer.

  7. They should be in bed as soon as it gets dark, which is about 6:30pm.

  8. No.. It sounds like your household might be a little heavy on the strict side,, but be careful, that could in turn push them away.

  9. Well... depends on how well they function without sleep... does the kid jump out of bed in the morning or are they hitting the snooze button and waiting for a kick in the ***.

I have a good friend who sleeps roughly 4 hours a night and can function just fine... I myself need at least 7-8 hours to function properly...

  10. Honestly, I wish my mom had made me be in bed by then.

I wouldn't've been tired during school and coming home to sleep instead of my work.

That's how school was for me since the sixth grade.

And my best friend? Homework done by nine, an hour of whatever she wanted, and bed by ten. Straight As every year I knew her, and was the most energetic little thing ever.

I learned bad habits because I'd stay up til four or five in the morning, sometimes not even go to sleep.

I believe that a 16 year old can earn a little extra time day to day, which is up to the parent, but ten should be a good enough basis.

  11. No. I know a lot of 15 year-olds (and I used to be one) who are taking AP classes and stuff at school and NEED to stay up to finish homework. Plus, I believe that it is just plain stupid to tell teenagers when they have to "be in bed." Maybe at home, but not IN BED. Sounds like complete control, on the verge of a form of communism. Seriously.

Oh yeah, btw I'm 18, so it really doesn't affect me, plus your little idea will never go into effect. Thank god your not MY parent!

  12. Yes.

  13. depends on the kid. I personally like sleep, and love the feeling of being well rested, so I am often asleep by 8:30 or 9 on weeknights.

  14. I was on school nights at least. Didn't hurt me a bit. Now, most of the time, I can barely make it past 11:00p!lol;)

  15. If they are tired. Allow them to enjoy every waking moment of life.

  16. On school nights that sounds reasonable on weekends they can stay up as much as they want. Only let them break the school night rules on special occasions.

  17. no by 9 is healthier for their development

  18. yes

  19. Im 14, I go to bed every night at 12 ish. i get plenty of sleep. I think 11 Oclock if ur under 15 sounds reasonable (but its not going to change my sleeping pattern)

A child my age should get about 9 hours sleep +.

But weeknights if there is no school, yeh.

  20. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. Well, I'd say, "early to bed, early to rise makes a person happy, healthy and wise!"

  22. no, not necessarily.

  23. if its a school night yeah but on the weekends no

  24. NO!!!

Wait, why do I care? I turned 17 five months ago.

  25. Absolutely.
