  1. No

  2. NO Lennox was a great heavyweight champion he beat the best in the division he beat Tyson when the media wanted this fight and most said Tyson would KO Lewis but it was the opposite. Klitschko would've lost the rematch he isn't a hard hitter and his stamina is so low he gets tired easily Lennox knows how to box and would win.

  3. quite the opposite. He was underrated.  An excellent heavyweight boxer.

  4. I don't think he was overrated.  I have him at number 19 all time just ahead of Tyson who I have at 20.  The biggest blunder Lewis made in his career was laughing at Rahman during their fight and in the next second Lewis was down and out.  Lewis learned a lesson about clowning around that night.  Other than that I have no problem with the guy.  Great heavyweight.

  5. yes I think Lewis was,he bored me to bits man his main obvious advantage was he was a freak 6'7'' tall and should have been in a circus,it was so sad to see him beat mike Tyson cos in Tysons golden period (86-89)he'd have ko'd lewis clean out better than Rachman did and even quicker,I thank you for an interesting question.

  6. I'd say probably, but mainly because he was a heavyweight - most heavyweights are overrated to begin with, so for instance, if you put Lewis among the top 10 or 15 heavyweights of all-time that means most people would put him among the top 30 or so fighters of any weight of all-time.

As a heavyweight champ is had a lot of the things you look for, size, power, and good speed, but he certainly lacked a good chin, his technique was shaky, stamina was questionable at times, and he definatly lacked any sort of killer instinct.  Plus, during his reign as champ he was KOd twice by less than top caliber fighters.

Of the modern heavyweights, I'd put him somewhere in the top 15 or so, but I believe that too many fans overestimate his abilities, often confusing the ability to take boring decisions from inferior competition or knocking out fighters who were about 1 step above novice as "great skill."

  7. no not really he is one of the best boxers of all time.

  8. No..Lewis was a great champion. Look at the heavyweights you have fighting now and you should see how good he was

  9. I have Lewis as about #10-12 on the all-time list. I get very tired of hearing that fighters were 'washed up' when someone they don't like beats them. People use that to justify everything these days. Just accept the outcome and stop it with all the "if he would have fought him two years earlier" c**p!

  10. lewis is a confusing fighter to rate, for instance, he had a rock solid chin (took tyson's, tua's, klichtkos, etc., best punches and never hit the deck) and yet he was knocked silly by two club fighters (McCall, Rahman). he mutilated tyson, klitchko (kind of), dominated holyfield (the first time), and yet he barely squeaked by ray mercer and holyfield (the second time), what it comes down to is he was a fight-by-fight boxer, one fight, hes the greatest thing to have ever laced a glove, the next fight hes not fit to carry richard simmons jockstrap (although he only performed like that a few times), was he overrated, yes, he was always a bit hesitant to scrap and acted like he was to good for boxing, but he was a good fighter when he wanted to fight and should be in the top 20 list of greatest heavyweights, around 17 or 18

  11. no,i think lewis was a great fighter,he fought fighters who were past their prime because the public wanted the fights ,he faced about everybody who was rated in the heavyweight division at some time when he was champion ,he beat every body he fought, if not the first time, then in the rematch. he was one of the few heavyweights who was great boxer.

  12. I didn't much care for Lennox for some reason while he was an active fighter, especially after smashing my beloved Tyson ( I would have loved to see them fight earlier).  However I could never deny his talent.  He had a somewhat suspect act chin (his only losses were by KO, and both were more or less one realy clean shot, I can't quite remember, but he has also taken some good shots with little trouble).  His size was awesome, and he utilized it with a fantastic jab and powerful rights hands.  He had good defense and ring generalship.  I agree that if anything he was underrated.  One of the last (or most recent) genuinely good heavyweight fighters.

  13. overated that would be mike tyson

  14. Lennox lewis in my opinion is one of the greatest heavyweight champions of all time, he had and beat great opponents and fought everyone in his division

  15. Not at all. He was a good Champ. He did get Ko'd by to inferior fighters but like a true champ he came back and beat them. Other than that he beat everybody that was in front of him.

Those two Ko losses hurt his all time status, but I do think he ranks around number ten all time.

  16. For those of you ignorant boxing fans who know next to nothing about boxing, Lennox Lewis was one of the best heavyweights of all time.  He beat the best of his era and Riddick Bowe gave up a title rather than face him. Overrated? He destroyed very competent heavys like Razor Ruddock, Mike Tyson, Frans Botha, Tommy Morrison, Frank Bruno, Hasim Rahman (anyone calling Rahman a clubfighter knows nothing about boxing), Shannon Briggs, Michael Grant, Klitcschko....many of these guys were world champions either before or after facing Lewis.  If thats overrated then you need professional help.
