if they were made legal? I mean what's the point of getting something you don't have to fight for? If that makes sense...

  1. hasnt stopped them from gobbling up the legal ones they got out there now

  2. Age old question and no it wouldn't work.

What would work is the ending of the "war on drugs" that they push on even Kindergartens now. Yep kids aren't smoking the pot they use to that did go down! But now they are doing coke and heroin at age 10. That didn't' take place until after the "war on drugs" started by the US government...hmmmm ....who also owns 90% of the coke fields in Columbia. Makes you wonder hu?

  3. It would stay about the same.  This is clearly evident by looking at the countries where they are legal.  No big change.  Either drugs appeal to you or not...the legality has very little to do with it.

Case in point:  I'm a National Merit Finalist and a recovering heroin addict.  I would have tried drugs if they were legal...

  4. Caffeine is legal, and more people do that than any other drug in the world. Some aren't aware that it even is a drug.

  5. yes and no...

    Depends what drugs..

I believe certain drugs are very harmful and should stay illegal

While, I think more people would smoke marijuana if it became legal, some are just too afraid

    legalize it

  6. That's a hard question. I think part of the edge of doing drugs is that you're doing something illegal, but it makes you feel good. If it was legal, alot of teenagers would drop it like it's hot because it's legal.

Drugs would be taxed though as someone said before. Drugs are already used to fund wars in other countries and sponsor dictators around the world. Whenever someone gets caught with drugs, especially expensive drugs, they throw them in jail instead of getting them treatment. Studies show that treatment is more effective.

However, the US Government is too selfish too care about your problems. If drugs were legal funding for many of the US's overseas "programs" would be cut.

America is already crazy enough without drugs on the free market. I would hate to walk into my local supermarket and buy some seasoning for my steaks and see Marijuana Helper on the shelf next to it.

  7. No, more people would do them.

  8. If drugs were legal, the prisons would have alot more space, there would be less crime overall, and I would be happy for once in my life.

  9. I think more people would do drugs, but there would be less crime associated with drug dealing. It's up in the air whether or not the decrease in crime would offset the increase in drug use.

  10. Either way, people are still going to be doing them. Legally or illegally, the law is just stupid.

    =)

  11. i think the number of ppl doing drugs would increase because if it were legal, it would be easy to get and b4 u kno it, 2 yr olds will be smokin a big fatty in the mornin

  12. its true that less would take them, just look at europe, teens don't like to get drunk there because its legal for teens to drink there.when they come over here , they can't believe how much american teens love to get "wasted" on the weekends.

  13. Yes, because if they were legal, Uncle Sam would tax the sh** out of them - making them even more unaffordable.

  14. not really since it would be easy for ppl to start doing it since they wouldnt work hard to find it

  15. No, I don't.  There are a lot of people who honestly don't care about the legality.  They either care about the high they can get from the actual drugs, or the untaxed amount of money and favors those drugs can bring. and most of those favors are also illegal...such as trading drugs for guns, amo or even people.

People can make drugs anyway they want and market them falsely.

If they were legalized, yes there maybe a drop in the use and commerce of those drugs, mainly because the government would tax them, set standards for working conditions, factories and what goes into the drugs/how the drugs are made.  Yes, books would have to be kept, however people can cook the books if they see fit to.

The legalization of drugs still would not stop those who want the high...and many addicts will do litterally anything to experience that high, so even if drugs were legalized they may get involved with other illegal acts to afford the drugs, or trade their own body for the drugs someone else has bought and will use as payment for illegal favors.

It would also depend upon which drugs.  Some like Marjuana have more uses than just a drug.  Marajuana can be made into clothing, jewelry, rope, and can be used a green to put in salads.  And Hemp fibers are extremely strong.  Hemp clothing is not only durable, but it feels almost as soft as silk.

That could open up new market and create jobs...hey, high school and college students need some form of a job, why not actually pay them for what they grow in their closets?(Semi-sarcastic.)  Better commerce, more money for the economy.  I'm for the legalization of marajuana.

However some drugs, such as crack, coccaine, crystal meth are more dangerous and have one use, which is the drug form should not be legalized.  Have you seen meth addicts?  They age quickly, they'll do anything to get the drug.  So, why make that type of drug legal, and have true addicts take part in dangerous and different illegal acts?  Then our prisons would just be full of meth addicts who were selling themselves for the money to buy the drug, or for the drug itself.  Plus by legalizing drugs like that there are more opportunities to market towards a younger aduience, and how many of us want teens, tweens and children younger than that addicted to meth?  It would also open the market to those who have never tried the drug.  Someone buys some crystal meth because it's legalized, they become an addict...or rather that behavior is uncovered, as they have found their drug of choice.

As someone with the addictive behavior and speaking from experience...I don't want to legalize more addicts.

I used to be heavily addicted to caffine(no, not just coffee, but energy drinks and borderline speed as well.)I am also a workaholic, and I am addicted to my French studies.  My addictions are for the most part healthy, but a crystal meth addiction just isn't.

  16. Hahahahaha. NO!

That just means that more people will do them...because

    1) they wouldn't have to sneak to get them

    2) They wouldn't have to sneak to actually DO them.

    3) More people would sell them because it would be good money and they can't get in trouble doing it.
