  1. i'm not going to give you an answer other than to say do some research.

  2. Depends on your belief. There are two types of magic, white or black. White magic is a form of religon and is for the good and healing of others. Black magic is for your own benefit, if you believe in such a thing, beware as if you perform black magic as in any bad things it turns on you three times over. There are various books and internet sites on how to practice, be safe.

  3. Not at all.

Magic/magick is defined as the power to bend and somewhat control the higher forces of the Universe. You can't and will never fully control these forces, as they are not yours to command, but they're the higher laws given by the Divine Providence/Supreme Spirit/God or whatever you call It.

So, the purpose of magic/magick is to bestow to someone the will and intellect to tap into this supreme force and to use it as he sees best.

Magick is not good, nor evil, just as it is with religion. You, as a magician, have the Power in your hands. It's up to you to decide how you'll use it. You'll be a dedicated healer, a seeker of higher truths or a wreckless destroyer and evil-doer? It's only your own call.

Think for a second to a hammer: you  can use it to build things, to repair them or you could smash someone's head.

See, it's just as simple with magick.

Only one diference: magick is harder to control, you need a powerfull will and a lot of faith into yourself and your abilities.

People tried to split magick into two main categories: white and black. But this is just an orientative name, as you will discover that there is nothing black and white, but shades of grey, whiter or darker. Of course that magick could be used only for good and honest purposes or just for bad deeds, but nothing is only it's extremes.

It's hard to put witchcraft into a category, because it has alot of different purposes. Most people know about curses, charms, love potions that change other people's hearts without their will. This is true in a way, but not all about witchcraft. This is magick combined with elements resembling a religion somehow. I mean, the adepts pray to a god or gods, have holidays and other "religious" stuff.

On the other hand, a true magician doesn't feel the need to worship a god/gods, altough he acknowledges the fact that the Universe is rules by the Highest Intelligence/Supreme Spirit/etc. This Spirit grants him the power if He sees him fit and able to receive them.

So, as a conclusion, the magician aims to the higher and spiritual power of magick, whilst the adept of witchcraft tends to a more materialistic purpose for magick.

I hope I cleared some of your thoughts and you see this whole magick thing in a new light.

  4. Generally speaking, witchcraft is a form of magic, but not all magic is witchcraft. There is also Native American "medicine" which is healing magic; faith healing from God (miracles are generally considered to be magic in nature); and then my personal favorite, which is stage magic... and that's just a few (there are literally hundreds).

Magic is the act of using willpower to heal. There is some research in quantum mathematics that could support the existence of magic, but this is still not even to the theory stage yet.

Witchcraft, in and of itself, doesn't tend to be evil. And in the Old Testament/Torah, the word usually translated as "witch" is actually the word for a woman who practices magic with the dead (called necromancy). Since women are primarily life-givers, Judaic law forbade them from practicing death magic, to the point that they should be put to death if they were found to be doing it.

With the word being mistranslated and reinterpreted by the Catholic church for reasons of gaining political power, millions of people were persecuted with torture and death because they dared practice things like herbal medicine and psychosomatic healing (both considered magic by the Catholic church until about 1700).

Therefore, witchcraft is not to be feared or embraced, and you should not have any qualms with learning about it.

  5. Some of these people spend too much time watching Charmed.  Magic is simply the use of energy to create change.  Even prayer can be similiar to magic.  There is no such thing as good/white or bad/black magic.   And magic (as well as prayer) is most often used for personal gain whether that gain is improved health or to improve communication with yourself and your Deity.  As for the Goddess being a demon - that person really needs to read the bible.  Genesis specifically states that we are created in THEIR image - male AND female.

  6. Witchcraft is magical, but magic does not have to be witchcraft.

Look around you, the beauty in the world is magical.

I hope you find what you are seeking.

  7. Not all magic is witchcraft.  Some wiccans believe that magic is neither black or white, it all comes down to that persons intention.  It all comes down to how that person uses it.  If they abuse magic then it may come back to them three fold.

Some Christian practice their own rituals as well (in a paranormal sense).  They may choose to summon or 'call' upon the Holy Spirit to show them a vision or 'prophecy' and they may also call upon the Holy Spirit to heal a person.

Most faiths teach the same thing which is love and compassion.  Yet, they have their own little names for everything.  Some Christians believe that ESP (extra sensory perception) is a sin, yet Christians will believe a Prophets word, which is the same bloody thing! lol

  8. Witchcraft is a form of magic, neither white or black, unless of course they are invoking some demon posing as a Goddess...but usually its just channeling certain aspects of power and directing it toward certain situations to influence the outcome.

BUT If you actually research it and not listen to these hippies...

Black magic such as can be found in Grimoires (magic instruction manuals) deals exclusively with demons and evil spirits, blood sacrifices and pacts with demons to gain power or achieve your desired effect.

White magic is just magic that is not used for selfish means, or invokes the power of angels, for instance to raise yourself to higher spiritual levels or gain knowledge of the Universe.

Again you will notice a variety of opinions because magic like religion all depends on your views beliefs and what stream of magic you follow.

  9. Magic is an illusion,, nothing real about it,,

Whitchcraft, spells and all that c**p, never gained anyone anything,,Its just a bunch of weirdos doing stupid, ignorant things with candles and herbs and stuff.

Ive known people who do that stuff and their lives are just as sucky as anyone elses, if not worse,,

It just gives them a false sense of power, and makes them feel important to a bunch of other weirdos....

Its usually ugly, fat people who cant seen to get anything or anyone on their own, so they start thinking they can make something happen by doing weird stuff,,,

sorry to say, but they only make people want to turn around and run,,,,

    thats just my opinion
