How much of God is really God, and how much is actually man's own creation?

Answers to these questions are, of course, mysteries, but I'd like to hear your thoughts :)

  1. IMO, the word "God" is a generic term used to label the "supreme whatever", the unknowable something or other.  deities are a projection of the mass subconscious of a society, a collective ego of a culture, the anthropomorphizing of nature in the style that the environment from which a people spring dictates.

  2. You are 100% right. God, to man, is man's imagination and therefore erroneous.

The reason is simple, the spirit of man dwells on the physical, and is limited to physical understanding (even his imaginations). Whereas the spirit of God thinks and understands on the spiritual level.

Therefore, for example, we have sickos and perverts who attempt to say that God loves everyone, so there is no such thing a sin. This is man projecting his one beliefs and misrepresent God.

Conversely, Christ asks if He will find even 1 man on earth with true Godly Spirit. So we can hope there are 'some' who have a right image of God - but sadly, the likelihood is low according to the Bible.
