  1. For the life of me I cannot think of any reason to go to Mars on any date, much less some specific date.  The place is a deadly, nearly airless desert which offers no realistic possibility for human settlement.  Perhaps if our civilization survives the coming gasoline collapse, future near magical levels of nanotechnology could make settlement possible.  But at our current level of technology while it is possible to go there and perhaps survive a while, doing so is economic if not biological suicide.  If you absolutely must kill people, there are cheaper ways than sending them to Mars.

  2. I don't know how you got that date. Maybe your a time traveler and your just acting smug.

Could we get to Mars by 2030? Sure! However it would take a big push on behalf of US politicians to get the public support and funding and the only way that would happen is if we have someone to beat to Mars.... *cought* *CHINA!* *cough*

    excuse me...

Bush laid the groundwork for such an endeavor by telling NASA to develop the next line of spacecraft to replace the shuttle to also be able to go back to the Moon. The farthest and most optimistic future for NASA is a Moon base. After that Mars will be the next stone to jump to and since the Moon will hopefully provide intrasteller craft with a cheap face to fuel up it will be the next logical step for manned exploration.

  3. anything can happen. you can not foretell the future but our actions today have pave the way.

  4. Certainly not all of us.

We might be able to get representatives there by then.  Much sooner if we want.

There are some serious problems, though.  The radiation problem has not yet been solved.

The bone loss problem requires either artificial gravity (spinning works) or shorter trips.  Shorter trips also helps the radiation problem a bit.

  5. So far as much I know there will not be any human being landing on Mars because it takes 6 months so to get to Mars. Then there is food problem and then food when astronauts get to their destination.

If we can use the solar which is effective of 82% instead of 18% we can asure that there will be mankind there.

There is another way to get to Mars in 3 months is by plasama techonology. To be honoust I am not too fimeliar with plasama.

  6. I think that instead of focusing billions of dollars on mars, we should be focusing on the problems in our economy such as poverty and homeless.  Teachers also need an increased salary.  Why are we trying to expand our knowledge on future beings when we can't even take good care of our own....
