Do you think many atheists are hypocrites? ?

Atheists don't believe in God and don't follow any religion because ...

1. There's no solid evidence that God exists, so atheists don’t feel the need to believe that b/s in the Bible, Qur’an, etc when there's no proof or real evidence that a higher being exists.

2. They believe it's ridiculous to believe in a fairytale like God that watches over us when again, there’s no proof.

3. Many atheists might think that religious people lack intelligence and/or are insecure with their own life, thus they resort to believing in a higher power which has no proof of existence.

4. Many atheists may be atheists because they were turned off by the actions and words of many hateful and ignorant religious people.

That’s all understandable, and they have the right to their opinion, but most atheists are just as wrong as religious people when it comes to telling us what happens when we die. Religious people insist they know what happens when they die, most insist that we will go to heaven and live happily ever after (but only if we didn‘t sin!). Atheists insist they know what happens when we die, which is … nothing. They insist that there is no God or any type of spiritual being, no afterlife, we just die, that’s it, no more to it, end of the line, rotting in the soil for eternity. That’s wrong because they insist they know EXACTLY what happens to humans when they die. But how can an atheist know that when they’ve never died, just like, how can a Christian know what happens when we die, when they’ve never died themselves? The ONLY people who know what happens when we die, are people who are dead! No one reading this question is dead, so how can any of you tell me or anyone else, exactly what happens when we die? It’s just as wrong as a Christian telling me that I’ll go to h**l when I die for not submitting to their beliefs. I know that not all atheists are that specific about what happens we humans die, but many are. That’s hypocrisy.

So if you're an atheist and you believe that when we die, we just die and there’s no more to it, not even a chance of there being some sort of after life, can you please give me proof? Solid evidence? The solid evidence that you often ask religious people to present when saying that God is real?

  1. 1. Numbers one and two are repetitive.

    3. Define many.

    4. Again, define many.

[edit:] By the way, I never say that I know that there isn't an afterlife. However, I will say that I don't believe there is an afterlife.

  2. Sorry, but the burden of proof is still on you.

  3. I will admit that I don't know for sure what happens after death. However, I will also state that I have not heard any valid reason to believe that we continue existing, in some conscious form. There's no evidence for it, so it's rejected like so many other baseless ideas.

  4. i think most of them are smart enough to see that alot of religion doesnt make any sence but not smart enough to see the diffrence between false doctrine and the truth because of all the people that

think they know  gods word and will bet their life on it because my pastor said, or the priest said  go around craming the lies that they have been cramed with down peoples throats.

there is only one jesus of the bible! but they believe in other ones and dont even know it,if i went around believing them i would probably turn athesist too ,but i know the real christ of the bible from reading it and

    i believe!

  5. Let's not start an argument on which one of us is the bigger hypocrite, eh?

Don't write checks your butt has no ability to cash, Compadre.

  6. Science has not uncovered anything other than the body in a human, and when the body dies nothing survives to pass on elsewhere.

  7. I can't even answer your question because it is soooo darn long! Ask shorter questions, and then you will get an answer out of me!

  8. So, I read none of that rubbish.

But to answer your question, you're being a hypocrite by bearing false witness against your neighbour (in this case, the atheists here). So myeah.

  9. "I know that not all atheists are that specific about what happens we humans die, but many are. That’s hypocrisy."

No it isn't, it is just expressing a considered opinion. It is not hypocrisy if they believe it is true. It might be wrong but it is not hypocrisy.

  10. Well, I haven't talked to a dead person lately so I don't know if there is anything after death.

  11. Proof is impossible, but solid evidence is easy.  Every aspect of the persona of any human (or other animal) derives from the chemical and electrical interaction of its molecular components, and all such activity terminates on death.  There is nothing left which could encounter heaven, h**l, or anything else.

  12. There's a lot of atheist-hating going on tonight!

I still love you Christians, though! Peace to you all.

  13. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah x 1,000,000

  14. I believe in God because it is more reasonable to.

  15. I think all groups have their share of hypocrites. You are never going to convince someone who strongly believes differently than you to your side. Is it really important what others think as long as you are true to yourself and what you think? There are more important battles to fight.

    Live and let live.

  16. Really it's both Atheists are hypocrites and idiots, how can they be both is a good question to ask them, knowing they are sinners who should be asking God for forgiveness, but i think they just want to be the children of the Devil, plus they already've  given up hope on thereselfs, so there lost why no hope is found

  17. I don't think hypocrites is the right word to use here for either the atheists or the Christians here. Both parties are sincere in their beliefs and hypocrisy implies insincerity.

There are other words that fit better: dogmatic, bull headed, are two I can think of.

  18. Come on, no one knows what happens after death for certain.  We all speculate and state our opinion, how is that hypocritical.?

  19. i don't know what happens after we die

  20. Death makes life meaningful. Death only effects those left behind.

  21. I don't know what happens when we die.  My feeling is that it is nothing.  I can't present you with any proof, obviously.  That is why it's called "a belief", rather than "knowledge".

By the way, lots of atheists believe in an afterlife.  Atheists don't believe in God, but after that they can believe anything they want.

  22. you're supposed to give proof for afterlife... you're the hypocrite here.

"can you please give me proof? Solid evidence?" -you

edit: in this case, with absence of evidence it's not hypocritical to not assume that you'll go nowhere after you die.

i apologize for putting words in your mouth.

  23. You are merely arguing your way to agnosticism.  No, no one can say anything knowledgeable about the afterlife.  But the burden of proof is on the more fantastic claim.

  24. People need to learn to be more concise.

You reach many more people when you don't slam them in the face with text.

  25. Consciousness, our mind or whatever you like to call it, is a product of our brains. Therefore when our brains die, our brains cease to function and our minds no longer exist. Simple.

  26. I'm an atheist, I don't insist on any of the above.  Why are you lying?  Is that part of your religion?

  27. Do you feel better now that you've had your tantrum? I am not robbing you of your security blanket. If you don't like reality, feel free to deny it and ignore it as best you can. But we both know you are pitching this little fit because you are scared of dying. Boo-hoo, sweets. Get over it and stop name calling. Your childishness is both unconvincing and illogical.

Oh...no. No I don't. Lemme break it down:

    1. Yes.

    2. Yes.

    3. ...not quite. I know many brilliant people who remain mentally shut down in a very compartmentalized way over this god business.

    4. Completely false, baseless, self-serving and generalizing douchebaggery.

EDIT: Do you accept that bacteria die and do not go on to bliss in an afterlife? Most people do. How about cattle that make up your little hamburgers? Chickens? People are no different. We die. There is no evidence that we go on to another world. I remember nothing from before I was born. That is because I did not exist. I have every reason to believe death will be much the same.

PS Not all atheists deny possibility of afterlife. Most just don't count on it or find it important. ...like Big Foot.

EDIT: "..state that when we die we just die and nothing else happens because they don't believe in God, which is why those atheists, are hypocrites."

False. The two are unrelated. I know many people, of various spiritual and religious persuasions who do not believe in the Abrahamic God, but believe in an after life. In fact, belief in any god/gods is not necessary for a belief in an afterlife. You are drawing causation from correlation. Go back to school, dear. Your lack of knowledge is too apparent.

  28. Christians are hypocrites.

    Buddhists are hypocrites.

    Muslims are hypocrites.

    Hindus are hypocrites.

So why can't atheists be hypocrites too?

  29. Atheists and theists are the same, they are people...the only difference are their belief in god(s).

Actually not all atheists beleive that there's no afterlife, many particular atheists believe in reincarnation.

The only thing that you should expect atheists to be consistent at is the disbelief in god(s). Belief in afterlife/aliens/evolution/big bang/etc are not necessarily relevant.

The burden of proof are not on the atheists to prove that there is no "afterlife". The theists are the ones that defines what "after life" is. I can not disprove the afterlife as much as I can't disprove Zeus, Thor, Ra, Krishna, the FSM, etc.

"Unknownymous, that's very true, but most many atheists bring up that issue a lot and state that when we die we just die and nothing else happens because they don't believe in God, which is why those atheists, are hypocrites."

Wait, they are not hypocrites, they are arrogant. People who are "absolute" certain that "X" exist or does not exist are arrogant. You can only call those atheists hypocrites  if they oppose "absolute certainty" WHILE they are absolute certain that there is no afterlife.

  30. I never claimed to know exactly what happens after death. I will say that I think we simply end though. What part of us would live on?

And you can't prove a negative so we cannot prove that there is no after life. The burden of proof lies with those that claim there is one.

  31. I have never claimed to *know* what happens when we die. But I'll not hesitate to tell you that I think we'll be worm food. There's simply no evidence that points to another conclusion.
