Do you think many people have the illusion that police officers are superheroes and?

therefore have the power to stop every crime and catch every offender?

I think many people fail to realize that officers are just people in humans and therfore offenders will escape and not every crime will be solved...

actually i think the oppisite. i think many people have the illusion that Police Officers are the bad guys that have nothing better to do then write them a ticket for speeding. but when the crime happens against them they expect them to do some CSI stuff when it was a stolen car or if your house got broken into.

I don't think 99% of people out there realize how tough of a job it actually is.

A State Trooper once put it like this for me.

A buddy of his once was the first person on the scene of a hit and run accident where a man and his two children were killed.

Later that night, he chased the drunk who hit them and ran through a muddy wooded area and faught with the man until he gained control.

Then, he pulled a man over for speeding and was apparently in a less than great mood, and was somewhat rude to the driver.

The driver was pretty pissed off at the Trooper......

but if he only knew what he had been through already that night.....

I also disagree....I don't think people see them as superheros

people see fire fighters as heros.....they do no wrong

cops are pricks who give tickets out for no reason.

it's a shame more people don't realize what they do

yeah, people expect police officers to be perfect

and that just isn't reasonable

It might be a better World if they though more highly of Officers...and Soldiers
