equality for all?

I ask this because I'm both a feminist and a masculanist. I cannot stand it when people ignorantely (sorry if spelled wrong) call guys dumb and immature and useless and all without a good reason and show all this resentment towards them. I can also not stand it when people say women should be housewives, could not make it as a construction worker or mechanic, are traditional when it comes to gender roles, have son-mania, and are just in general all out mysogonists. I have stood up against both these things. I here this c**p all the time, especially now at camp (well last week to be exact). Women calling men useless. Men saying "you got beat by a girl". I stand up for it all. I hate prejudice. Even when no women will stand up for themselves and just laugh along, I still say something if I feel it important enough. Even when no male will stand up for themselves, I did the same. When will we come together and for a group called equalist?

Well if you can find me a masculinist group / website that isn't outragously sexist, I will be all for them.  Unfortunately, I have yet to find one, so my answer will have to be no, for now at least :-)

I think that the both should team up and fight for equality but I don't believe it will ever happen.

There are always those who go off of the deep end, radicals if you will.

I've been called a naive  hippie because I think that we should stop fighting individual issues and tackle issues together, it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one who wishes people would realize that we're fighting for common equality.

Not unless feminists suddenly drop their hatred of men. Not until they stop the lies and hypocrisy and recognize reality instead of the same old campfire stories their "sisters" have passed down generation to generation. Not until they stop hiding behind the word "equality" while fighting for special privileges and actually fight for equality.

I have often stood up for males in regard to ppl generalizing or stereotyping them.

i have worked with men who were pro-feminist & volunteered with groups i was on.

I have met kind, rational MRAs - these guys I will work with.

I will not work with the hate-filled misogynist guys.  my empathy button turns rigth off with their hate and anger.

many of them exist on this site.

they're my personal opinions.  in real life, men are helping women more than ever. they have formed groups, help with women's groups, teach women's studies, etc.

certainly, feminism has helped fathers play a more active role in children's lives. also, many organizations that started to work with female victims of violence now help male victims.

i think we'll see more & more of it.

I am extremely sensitive to the concerns of men.  The problem with the male posters on this forum is that they flat out HATE women.  They only masquerade as maculinists, so that they can fake a gender concern to get on this forum and bash women.  Just today Johnno, who used to be a top contributor, wrote on a question that he thought women would skip, "F**k all woman."

That is the truth of what we are dealing with here, and Johnno is MILD!

I agree with a lot of what you are saying.  I too was idealistic and an equalist.  However I have been thru a divorce...and prejudiced against because of my genitalia.  That changes a man.  

Wow what great words you have.  You have a great heart, spirit and soul.  I doubt regular men and feminists will ever work together.

Liberal feminism has taken away a generation of boys from their fathers via divorce court.  

The divide is growing, social chaos is here and that's human nature (plus a media that has a stranglehold on the USA.)  Today women are doing to men what men did to women.  Albeit in a different way.  If feminists were perfect, they'd be robots.  But they are human and make mistakes too.  Greed is one of them.

Then again I could be wrong; the n***s started out the same way-people laughed at them till they started to kill.  Radical feminists kill thru taking away the family, jobs and other laws.

Look at this forum-many men have their questions deleted.  How many times is a woman's question deleted?  Under Gender, there is no Man's Studies...only Women's Studies.  Isn't that sexist?
