Morals are subjective.  This is part of where so many problems today in terms of society and politics come from.

The morals of a devout Caucasian Christian growing up in the bible belt are different from the morals of an Asian-American Buddhist who grew up in a large coastal city.  Everyone has their own interpretation of how things should be.

Advanced? In what way? iPods and Internet are insufficient to claim that, in my opinion. It would seem in a lot of ways we have regressed to inferiority to some of the simplest civilizations. I am short on time so I will make the poorly formed and unsupported statement that this country in slipping into unenlightened chaos mitigated by law enforcement and complacency.

I don't think morals nor good ethics should have anything to do with our advanced society.  These should exist no matter wherever you are, these do not pertain to the society but to the person themselves and to their thought patern.

For example; if we teach our children that hating people of other races is ok, this has nothing to do with our advanced society, but to the morals you yourself have instilled in your child.  Your child will grow up with hatred for people that are not of his race.

yes, or the world would be crazy because people and animals would not have any standards hence havoc would be created and people would do what they want and that could include more death, weddings, riots, no one listening to political parties etc.

Morals are extremely important for any society to have.

Without morals, and a line to draw that makes you think "Aww, c**p. That wouldn't be a very nice thing to do." we would be no better than wild animals.

We were given a brain so we would care about what we do. I mean, 99% of people wouldn't kill a baby for food. Wild predators would. They don't care what they eat, as long as it is food.

I don't generally have much faith in people, but I would really like to believe we are better than that at least.
