  1. No, they are two completely different types of racing.

  2. No, not a good idea.

  3. To keep it simple, no. It would ruin the TT from being an event that is great for amateurs and pros to an event that is all glitz and glamour. That's not what the TT is about.

  4. i would soner see the two separate they are not the same after all

    regards x kitti x

  5. I think No. the GP is about developement as much as racing. not everything they try works. and with the non existent or very little run off on the TT course. it would be too dangerous. the top TT riders know the course backwards. most even live on the Isle of man.  its very easy to compare bikes and think its just about the rider. But the comparison between a TT preped bike to a Moto GP bike, stop at two wheels and a rider.  The TT course is an awesome piece of tarmac. but safety has to come first.

  6. Do you think you could get enough of the GP racers to race on the TT course? They seem to think Brands Hatch is marginal for safety.

  7. `Horses for courses` was the thought that immediately sprung to mind when I saw your question.

Moto GP and the TT parted company 40 years ago and the subsequent development of GP bikes has left them way too fast and specialised for the TT. Even, as others have said, the street based formulae are getting to fast for the circuit now.

Safety is a very big issue in Moto GP, worldwide TV audiences do not like to watch death and serious injury live on a Sunday afternoon and the riders would not want to be forced into attending the TT just to gain Championship points at the very real risk of impacting against a lamp post, bus stop or garden shed to terminate their lucrative careers

Setting a Moto GP bike up for a purpose made track is difficult enough for some highly skilled riders, but to cope with the manhole covers, kerbs, bumps, different road surfaces and the weather over the mountain is almost an impossibility.

Which is basically why it was removed from the GP calendar all those years ago.

  8. Never in a month of Sundays.

Take a look at Macau. Far too fast when the old 500cc V Twin's were going there.

The TT is a great place, but I ( shame to say this ) think that in less then 10 years, the biggest bikes to go round it will be 600cc.

They are not far off the fastest pace already!

  9. No because moto GP requires certain safety precautions that TT cannot meet.  Plus TT is a time trialed event - not a race.

  10. There's more chance of a snowman getting a sun-tan.Too dangerous.

  11. no i think the bikes are much too fast with no run off areas

today,s riders would be scared to death i think

  12. As much as I love the TT and Moto GP my answer would have to be absolutely not. The two are about as compatible as an Enola g*y fly past is to the Hiroshima Airshow. I think you all know the reasons why.

In any case if you consider that Laguna Seca is deemed to be marginal for safety standards in the Moto GP class then where do you think the TT course would appear on the same scale?

  13. no....to bring the GP to the TT would spoil it, the TT is still largely an amature event and that is part of its charm. even if the prof riders would do the course to make the event where the biggest check book wins the races would spoil the whole thing in my opinion

  14. Sheene went there in the 70's and bottled it say it was to dangerous, i seem to remember he was on a 125, he created nothing but trouble for the TT which used to be part of the GP calender, with world championship points, he created such a fuss that it was eventually dropped from the world championship in 76, so i don't think MOTO-GP should go to theTT they would only end up spoiling it for everyone else

  15. yes after all they the best races in the world

  16. although the idea sounds great AC  this will not happen the production based bikes have outgrown the island for being too fast i would love to see a purpose built circuit built on the isle of man and use this for moto gp etc now that would be something many would flock to
