  1. it would be too bloody

  2. No, they already have too many martial arts, and muy thai would be difficult to judge since it involves closer combat as opposed to longer distance striking martial arts.

  3. No..they have a lot of events already and some of them are sports that probably shouldn't be on there. Plus are there actually a lot of countries that have  muay thai as a sport? I don't even think many people know what that is.

  4. Muay Thai is a good sport to watch.  Should it be an olympic sport?  No, way too dangerous since it usually ends with fighters unconscious or with some really serious injuries.  Kickboxing might be the style you are looking for since it is safer and follows saftey regulations.  Kickboxing should be in there since boxing is in there.

  5. Actually, yes. The already have wrestling, boxing, and judo, why not muay thai?

  6. Muay Thai should definitely be an olympic sport... It's popularity as a martial art has been growing exponentialy in recent years (thanks to the UFC, Pride, K1...), there is a strong base of fighters across the world, it makes for a better spectacle than most other combat sports, and its long history warrants such a recognition on the international stage...

However, there are several factor that will hamper its acceptance as an olympic sport:

    - In Thailand, Muay Thai is intrisically linked to gambling, which does not really conform to the olympic spirit.

    - It's mostly popular as a professional sport, and the amateur aspect of the art would have to be developped.

    - This would completely change the face of muay thai as a sport: think of boxing, where protective equipment and scoring has really limited the art (few KOs, amateur boxing mostly consists of high scoring jabs and crosses... fery few hooks and uppercuts... etc).

    - It is quite bloody as a sport (though this was also a feature of the original greek olympics), and might offend modern sensibilities!

In short, I do think it should be included as an olympic sport, but I do not think it will happen ; and even if it did, what we'd see would not be muay thai, but some really watered down version of the sport...

  7. half yes and half no . because muay thai is too dangerous and is a lethal sport. and thailand will definetly win
