Do you think my behaviour was justified?

Question

I was invited to a company dinner and unfortunately was seated next to a co-worker who for some reason has never liked me and makes sure I know it. He was being obnoxious to me as usual and generally making veiled insults to make himself look like a big man in front of everyone. So I stood up and said "you know what i think of you? this' than I stuck my butt directly into his face and blew out a huge f**t! He looked stunned like he could not believe I did that and then I walked out of the restaurant. So my question is do you think my behaviour was justified?

that was not a good idea...you only made a fool out of yourself...i hate to say this, but there's a high chance that you're gonna be a laughing stock...good luck handling your problems, though...

do I think the guy deserved it?? yes!! lol what a nice way to let him know his attitude twords you really stinks! and you basically told him to "eat $hit!"

I might have done the same thing as long as no one else saw it. After all you do not want the other co-workers to think bad of you. Like you are just some jerk pickin on an innocent guy or somethin'!!

NO. Just because someone else is rude, crude and generally obnoxious, is NO reason for you to do the same. What are you, 5 years old? You made more of a fool of yourself than you did your co-worker...

He probably deserved it, but it seems to me that this would make you look very bad in the eyes of all your other co-workers that witnessed it (and I'd imagine that everyone who wasn't there from the office has already heard about it by now).

Very unprofessional on your part.  This might be a good time to get your resume ready, you might find that you won't have this job for much longer.

It was not justifited at all. You were at a work function, therefore its kinda like at work. You may have just gotten fired for your antics.

How old are you and your company workers? It depends. It's understandable to me, but not all of your company would be open minded about it.

I don't think you'll get fired if you explain to the company. If you never talked to the co-worker about it, then it was irrational of you to resolve it by farting in his face rather then verbally confronting him in an appropriate manner...and not a gassy one.

It wasn't justified, but understandable.
