I am Jonny and i am 18 years old. I would like to attend the university here in my city, because I really think that it can be the right place in order to realize my professional perspectives.
Infact i can say i am fond of economics, yes, I know this is the first important and fondamental characteristic that someone who wants to study this subject should have. But if there hadn't been a place like this, I would not have been so excited and enthusiast enroling myself to an university. Yes, because I really find interesting that here there is the possibility to study in three languages, because I know how knowing many languages could be important in order to find a good job, but not only this, because other languages mean other ways of thinking. I really like to consider this cultural side of studying. I really like to consider this cultural side of studying in three languages, because even economy business are based on the relationships with other people, and you know, with this globalized world it is not so difficult to face with people from other countries. Since the time I was a young boy, I have always loved to know people who came from other countries. I actually have got the possibility to do it doing my sport, ice skating, because most of the competitions are abroad. And not only this, because with the internet I am also able to keep on talking, or better to say, chatting, with them every day, even if we are hundred, or thousend kilometers far each other.
I even liked the fact that this university has a lot of conventions with other ones, in Australia too!!! This means that I would also go and study in a foreign country...maybe. I think my favourite would be Canada! But these are more dreams than reality, because I also love this small city where i live, and I think I could not stay too much time without the mountains that surround us.
But this beautyful place has also hir problems, and they regard for example the antypathy between two ethnic groups.
Yes, because even if we are in 2008, there are still political groups that keep their positions and refuse to come to a compromise.
I think that an university in 3 languages could be a clear example to follow, in order to build up a multicultural world.
Returning back in an economic contextt, I would be also happy to tell you why I really like economics. As you know, to be an economist means to calculate, to extimate and to preview decreases, increases, raises and falls of the shares of the stock exchanges in order to allow the costumers to have more profit. And for making these calculations you need to be good in maths. That was something i could be proud for!! I have always liked maths. But another thing I hve to know very well, if i want to be an economist, is the public and private law of my country...and the first time I read the constitution I thought that it could not have been possible to know every article, because apart from the constitution there are also the law codes, public and private, civil and penal...but at that time i was too young to understand...and now i am ready to learn every article and to know each law, because it is important, even if you do not want to study economy.
The only thing I do not like pf economy is the face that to many people decide to work as economist or business consultant only in order to earn more money.
I think that the aim of economy is to make the system work better, realising the so called wellfare state!!
