  1. I'm 12, And I have one, But It's private, I don't think I used real information, and I don't really go on it.

But, anyways, No. I don't think it is. There's TONS of pervs out there.

  2. Myspace in itself probably isn't inappropriate for a 12 year old, however, it does expose your child to ALOT of strangers, not all with good intentions.  And there are alot of other people's pages on there with content that a 12 year should not see (i.e., I ran across a few where nude pics were posted).

  3. Myspace is a huge pile of ****. It's not only inappropriate for a little kid (or anyone, more or less), it's worthless and pointless to have.

I only made mine so I could be friends with Weird Al.

  4. i do not think myspace is appropriat for a 12 year old and thas only because im 16 i have a myspace and the freedom you have on there is pretty much unlimeted you can find friends you can say things online thats just Crazy!!!!!!!

But honestly if you install this program that monitors everything that ur chil says and what other people say that wont be a problom

  5. NO NO NO and NO

    NO NO NO and NO

    NO NO NO and NO

    NO NO NO and NO

    NO NO NO and NO

This myspace thing is the worst thing that has ever been invented.

  6. it depends on how mature they are...

    i got mine when i was 11 and now i am 13

if your kid is into the whole 'popular' thing then it is good for them to have one for their self esteem

  7. It's definitely not safe for a 12 year old. There are way too many whackos out their. Child predators lurk and there are also cyber bullies. No 12 year old needs a MySpace account.

  8. depends on who moniters it

if it's set on private and mom and dad no the pw then yes definatley!!!

i say yes......even if there's not as much supervision..

  9. you actuly have to be 14-15 to join.

Please to all out there know what youre chiald is doing cuz there are some freeks out there. I just wanted to ask this here while you were looking becouse I don't want to hear about another chiald hurt becouse of the internet.

    Thanx To all

  10. Yeah.

Most 12 year olds know more than you think, trust me.

As long as they talk to only people they know and only accept friend requests from friends/people they know it's perfectly safe.

  11. Depends on how internet savvy they are.

Make sure to go over the simple things with the child such as setting the profile to private and not talking to anyone he/she doesn't know.

I still think the age limit is 14 for a reason, but if the kid is mature and supervised, why not?

  12. i don't know why a 12 year old would need to be on my space. the only people they know are there parents... haha. but in all seriousness there are too many predators out there, make them wait till they are a little older.

  13. As many would say no, and some would say yes, I think it is based on how smart this kid is. If he or she knows what to do when a strangers adds him or her. Or if he or she gets and weird messages. Than they seem responsible enough. But when they have their full names, location and etc. that needs to be changed.

I say yes, but as long as its monitored and is being used by a smart kid

  14. no. It's not appropriate for anyone unless they know how to be careful with it. But no one knows how to be careful with it, which means its not appropriate for anyone.

  15. there are many people who do stupid things on myspace.  myspace is really really safe, if you follow some guidelines.

if your profile is private, nobody except the people you have accepted as friends can ever see your personal information.

and, if youn want, you can go to the privacy settings and for anyone to ask to be your friend, you can make it so they have to know your e-mail, or last name.  pictures, even when you have an open myspace, can be set as private.  you never have to post your address, telephone, or anything else you don't want to.  i'm 13 and have had a myspace for just about a year, now, and i have never had any trouble.  you reject who you don't know.

  16. No, I'm almost 14 and don't have one but my 12 year old cousin does. I may get one later this year but only to keep in contact with my friends and other people from school, and my family.

  17. Really a 12 year old should not have a myspace

but if they keep it privite and you make sure that

they are only talking to there friends and family

    then why not?

  18. no, myspace has too many dangers and potential threats that a young person usually can't be guarded from

  19. She is 12 yrs old, i'm sure all of her friends have one.  Most likely she just wants to be cool like the other kids and have some place to chat and make a cute little page that shows the things she likes.  If your worried you can tell her she may have one as long as you can have the password and check it out every now and again.  Make sure that she uses all the blocks.  People have to ask to see her page, pictures, comments, etc....  Myspace rules are that you may not post nude or bad pictures so I would like to hope she won't be seeing anything like that or herself post any pictures.  I would try to trust her a little she is getting older, just make sure that is supervised.

  20. LOL @ the people saying no probably being about 14.

Yes, it's fine. If a 12-year-old uses the computer, myspace is the last thing they or their parents should be worried about.

  21. noooo here are some like myspace but safe

Yuniti ( http://yuniti.com ) *my fav & the safest for younger kids

    Myyearbook ( http://myyearbook.com )

    Orkut ( http://orkut.com )

    Hi5 ( http://hi5.com )

    Friendster ( http://friendster.com )

    Xanga ( http://xanga.com )

    Tagged ( http://tagged.com )

    Bebo ( http://bebo.com )

  22. No because of the child safe law is 13. No myspace has preadators on it (i'm not saying everyone with one is just in general)

  23. absolutly not. I am 30 and i don't have any kids but I would not let my 12 year old on my space.  there is so much garbage out there that who knows what she might come across.  Also their are preditors on there all of the time looking for oportunities.

  24. no.It could very dangerous, because preardotors could be on there prentend to be a "friend" get some infomation on them and then hurt them phiscally, emotionally, mentally whatever

  25. No I do not. Just for the safty of the child I think that you should wait. They could say something simple and give a little hint of their age. Then a hint of were he-she lived and then they are in great danger!

  26. I don't think so. I think the appropriate age is 13 and up. And if the 12 year old did get one I would make sure their profile is on private!

  27. no but people do it!!!

    some1 help me 2

  28. nope

Free ranging violent and sexually themed streaming video links. Unchecked and unlimited contact with adults and adult oriented content.

    absolutely not.

Me and my wife bounced off of myspace because of the lack of content controls. I was solicited pornography at least 4 times a day with "friends" requests. Not for kids for sure. Even if you totally limit the friends contacts to "friends only" myspace regularly has racy advertising for sponsers and hosted streaming video.

  29. Personally, I don't think so.

Once you get started with sites like Myspace, Facebook , and Bebo, you get hooked and your life starts going to waste.

I believe that everyone is better off without any kind of "profile".

  30. NO WAY BECAUSE ALOT OF CRAZY THINGS GO ON AT MY SPACE MY MOM WOULD NOT EVEN LET ME GET ONE AND NOW I DONT WANT ONE ANYMORE! IF THIS 12 YEAR OLD IS YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER DELEAT THERE  MYSPACE AND LET THEM ON WHEN THEY ARE OLDER!

  31. I have a friend with a 12 year old son.  When he wanted a myspace page, she let him.  But she also set up one of her own and insisted that she become one of his friends so she could check up on him.  She also knows his password.  She rarely logs in to check on him, but he's a responsible kid and hasn't had any problems so far.  It's not appropriate for ALL 12 year olds, but with proper supervision it could be okay for some.
