Do you think..(no this is not about 2012, Planet X, or anything like it!)?

I am reading a book called "Race to Mars" by Dana Berry. It talks humans going to Mars and the trip there. It says that we will be there by 2030. Do you think that we will be there by, later, or after or not at all? (2030)

much later maybe, because there is something there that can let us live there, but not at the current technology, now we can have about 1 person there and to let him survive it would be millions of dollors a day,

we can only hope we will get there by 2030. with the economy as it is, we may have to wait a bit. i always pushed for 2020 but at this point, we have a better chance of landing a probe on europa by then. i'm all for the "mars direct" idea, but the government dropped that a while back. hopefully we will have a scientific colony on mars by 2030, and a citizen colony by 2060. but we can only hope!
