Do you think our Government is being responsible by leaving us vulnerable with no Corn Reserves after floods?

Did you view or hear of "King Corn" documentary, if so does it ring true??

Was the passing of the Passing of the Farm Bill placating instead of thinking in terms of the long haul for the U.S. and World needs, like reserves in emergency like the recent flooding of our corn belt?

  1. I'm keeping up w/gogreen and it's not good news.

I think it's ill how our Government powers-that-be short-change the people. Basically paying them to make the cheapest pesticide/chemically saturated product for our consumption...since we eat that cattle and other corn products in pretty much everything, we are poisoning ourselves.  It make sense because they DO think of us as cattle after all so who cares!  Cruel Joke!  Even the farmers who grow it won't eat their own crop!

Seriously after watching that documentary I'm only wanting to eat ORGANIC!

  2. Maybe it is a good reason to stop the subsidies that the farmers keep getting for NOT growing crops.  Sorry, if I have little sympathy for these farmers who are on a flood plain.

  3. Totally irresponsible, inflated prices and we taxpayers paying gargantuan subsidies as a result...not to mention the friggan non-contingency plan for this most recent disaster flooding (guess who's going to pay again?).  Of course this is bound to repeat more often with worse results every time!

Does anyone realize how this affects our receding economy even more??

Let's just wait until the whole thing falls to pieces, THEN do something!
