  1. jeny g had a good answer. =\ Here is the link to the 51 things we can do to stop global warming online:

    time.com

  2. well we are ,or some of us are already

in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification and some have died as a result

in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert,

,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year

and most of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less

and the overall effects will hit 1st world countries soon enough with food prices that will hit the roof and much more important water

Climate change is gonna effect the whole world even if the weather in your place is not that drastic the food that you buy can come from other countries that have problems ,and if there is a shortage of water you will have to buy water and agriculture which uses about 70% of all water will be severely affected and so will the price of food

if your kids encounter it ,that means they are very lucky to still be around

snow in the desert is not that strange ,have you ever been to the sahara ? it freezes at night and it cooks during the day ,that is a dessert climate

  3. we are already starting to encounter global warming, so if our generation doesnt stop anything our kids will feel it a lot worse then we are.

  4. Reality check, we're experiencing the start of it right now and I bet you it's going to get worse.  There really is no stopping it from coming but what we can do is shorten and reduce its effects and eventually eliminate it gradually.  Have you read TIME magazine. The one released on April 9, 2007, I think.  They gave 51 ways that we can do, either as individuals or businessmen or part of a community, to help save the planet.  It's a really good read and very interesting too.

  5. To answer your question, of course they will, the Earth has been warming up for the last 20,000 years and will continue to do so, probably for some time.  Eventually, however, it will start cooling and then our decendants will get to see global cooling.

And I doubt taht you can see the world changing year by year, at least not the type of changes you are talking about, because they just don't happen that fast.  There are changes every year, but they are more or less a random walk.  For example, 2005 was the warmest year on record, 2006 was only the sixth warmest, 1998 was the second warmest.

  6. No, no snow in the desert - but more deserts.

I'm sure our kids will have to deal with the consequences of climate change.  After all, WE have to deal with the consequences of it.
