Our technology is getting more and more advanced; we can eat, entertain ourselves, talk to people and so much more without even having to move from our couch.

But then again, teenage pregnancies are becoming more frequent and whatnot...

Which do you think?

  1. i think that as a society we are becoming more intelligent in some aspects and less in others, yet we are definately becoming more lazy as time goes by.  Technological advancement comes in and makes us not have to work.  When was the last time you remembered a phone number, it's because we have no necessity to do this anymore.  We have more intelligence in technology, but i feel like todays society is definately lacking in the past essentials like history and math.

As for the teenage pregnancy thing, people are feeling more broken from society and family and i think that is a reason why many teens are getting pregnant to have someone to love them.

  2. I think people are just ignoring how real life is. Parents don't talk to their kids, don't discipline them. They are trying to 'protect' them from 'the dangers in the world' which doesn't help them at all.

In sports now, every kid gets to play, they all get trophies. They don't have drive to do their best.

  3. depends whether the hate will go down. increased sin in society and hate will cause everyone to get that much more smarter to deceive one another in better ways. like.... what other types of weaponry can we build to kill them? or what types of medicines can we discover to treat those injured by our enemies?

  4. Probably the same.  IQ is the capacity to learn.  If the fact is that we not learning as much, that has nothing to do with if we are smart or stupid.

  5. Honestly? I am only in my 20's and I feel that most people my age at least around me are extremely immature and obnoxious. I hold my breath and honestly wait for what the world will be like by the time my generation of people is in charge. Our technology may be becoming more and more advanced but its hard for a lot of people to even understand. To me the world is in a scary place when it comes to the looks of our society.

  6. stupider

  7. sounds more like you're asking which direction are advances in technology taking us..

ancient primitive versions of man can live in some wilderness where today's humans would not be able to survive. our advances are changing us. we are perhaps growing less religious by enabling ourselves to more easilly remove our own ignorances at increasing rates but that doesn't mean we are less spiritual. at some point we may come to depend on such complex technology we would not be able to survive without it nor would any single person be able to understand it all in depth. some would argue this is the case for many people even today.

technology is not the blame for some people's not knowing the difference between right and wrong. you either choose to listen to your feelings, understand them and let them guide you or you do not and hope you can pay for it later at a lesser cost..

there are the differences between knowledge and wisdom.. a form of intelligence that only life experiences can grant. academic knowledge is obviously completely different

  8. Ummm...hate to tell you this but there is no such word as stupider.

  9. both we are advancing in technology but we may not be ready for it and are becoming less intelligent with every modern convenience. We are now living in a world where we can have instinct gratification.

  10. Oh, definitely stupider.

Before the age of the internet and it's resources people would read and "research".

Now "researching" is only a click away!

  11. Both

  12. We are far more stupid than 10, 20 or 30 years ago. We heavily rely on technology to take care of our endless "needs" (more like wants!). We feel helpless & neurotic if our internet is unplugged, our cell gets lost or the blackberry gets stolen. It's sad. We are constantly plugged into technology SO much, that it is hurting society as a whole. So my opinion is YES, unfortunetely.. Very much so. And it's very sad.
