  1. no not at all...most Olympians have a good way to deal with the pressure...and it just may not be a great year for the Aussie swim team..no big deal im sure you guys will come back bigger and better in 2012 : ) .

PS: Im from the US and i cant not describe to you how much i love the swim races between the US and Aus cause they are ALWAYS so close and intense!

  2. All top athletes put a great deal of pressure on themselves to succeed.

This is usually a sign of great competitors.

The Aussies are great competitors in the pool. I don't see that changing. It's just that with so many other swimmers (Michael Phelps namely) are swimming so well it's making it difficult for our friends down under.

The fact that Ian Thorpe and Michael Klim have yet to be replaced doesn't help either.

The women are swimming very well with Jones, Trickett, Schipper, and Rice picking up medals.

They certainly did well tonight with a Bronze in the W 200 Fly, Silver in the M 100 Free, Silver in the M 200 Breast, and a Gold in the W 4 x 200 Free Relay! You also gotta love that DQ of the Chinese W 100 Free swimmer to allow Trickett into the finals.

Don't ever count the Aussies out for too long around the pool!

  3. No,

If they have pressurized themselvs then they would have done something.

  4. of course, I mean you have had so many gr8 ppl that had gone before them and the new generation are trying to keep with the Jones (so to speak)... I think also we as spectators put to much pressure them also...

However they do, they should be proud enough that that made it to the olympics...

  5. no, it's just that the talent is not there.
