Do you think people actually return mail delivered by USPS that doesn't belong to them?

Reason being, I applied for a passport and it was mis-delivered by USPS. My only hope is that the person it was delivered to sees this package is from the US Govt and returns it in a mailbox or to the post office. Do you think people still do this?

  1. Yes - I do.  Why wouldn't you?  It's not that hard to stick it back in the mailbox and write, "wrong address" on it.

  2. I would always send it back, because basically I wouldnt want people keeping my male so I wouldnt keep mail that didnt belong to me.  I am sure you will get it safely, there is still decent folk in the world lol

  3. Legally they are not required to if it has that persons name, and address.  However most people will return packages that are not theirs if they do not have to pay to have it returned.

  4. I do!

  5. I always do, in fact I just did that this weekend.

Would not you want someone else to do the same?
