Do you think people on R&S take questions too seriously and are quick to judge?

I just asked a question which had loads of people basically calling me dumb and leaving abuse about my question etc etc

Fair enough my question may well have been wrong, but im not a freekin science geek who knows the ins and out of bacteria!!!

Isnt the whole point of Yahoo answers, is to ask questions you might not understand, and to learn new things?

Another thing, is when you ask a question and people tell you to study what you are questioning, before you ask a question?

Ermmm isnt that the whole point of asking a question on here? so you dont have to go on google and search through websites to get your answer!

Does anyone else get fed up of the abuse on here? and constant judging of simple questions?

If the question is offensive , it's just normal to take it seriously and judge quickly. Sometimes the questions are judgmental themselves.

Carly there is nothing wrong with asking dumb questions, and there is nothing wrong with the responses that dumb questions receive. Please wiki dumb questions before you ask so that you have a foundation of knowledge for dumb questions.

It happens here, yes.

But, some basics from biology are taught in junior high and the question is sometimes dumb.

Easy google search, as we often to to help others, could apply on the ones, who are actually interested in a particular subject

Yes alot of people are not tolerant to what they consider different from them. Its a shame , humans are always the same , nothing really changes , instead of respect and cooperation , theres this tension and foolishness

Probably. You have to get used to the abuse and judging by some of them. Best to ignore their bad manners if you can.

People are so used to Christians on R&S ignorantly posting questions about evolution or other science that arrogantly mistake their own lack of knowledge for some kind of great insight, that there's alot of kneejerk reaction around here.

You didn't do that in your chicken/bacteria question which is why I didn't respond like an a**.

Next time, if you're going to ask science questions, ask it on Science section.

People here are mean when some ask here about anything outside R & S topic. But they're not religious themselves  :P

Alot of times people do not read the whole question

Just the headline

I am guilty of doing this and it is not right

But I don't want people to feel bad

So I try to look at the best way to make things

look hopeful

If people are mean I feel sorry for them because

I figure they have issues that are eating them up inside

So the only way they can release their frustations is

to hurt others because they are hurting

It is wrong what they say

But i still have compassion for them

Because I figure that could be me in their shoes

And what a miserable life they must have

Yes, of course I sometimes get fed up with the abuse here and I have taken a day or two off from time to time. I do my best to pass over the non serious questions, and to be truthful there have been days where it seems as though there are no questions to answer. I don't see this as a game for points, levels or stars. I honestly want to answer questions. In R.&.S. we have to be thick skinned. And strong willed,as well as steadfast in our faith.

I find that Christians tend to do this more often than other people though...
