i may sound cold hearted but to some extent i think so, you will never know the damage done untill you experince it. i ask my self why the h**l are taxes eating up my check, then i remember that im paying for murders, pediphiles, and rapists. then when they do get out of jail, its not like they can go to colledge and get a degree, or a job for that matter, they just end up selling drugs again and robbing stores. maybe just drop them off an uncharted island. am i wrong for thinking like this?

  1. No. I agree.

I don't think that they all should be killed because some of them have like "problems" but you're right.

  2. YES AND NO.

My problem with capital punishment is that you have to depend on a HUMAN justice system. Its one thing when a cop SEES someone kill and then shoots the culprit. Thats 'immediate consequence' based on visible facts. Hopefully the facts have been videotaped for accountability.

In other cases, you generally have to depend on jurors, lawyers, judges, prosecutors and even dishonest scientists.

Whats the big weakness? If it was all about 'trusting the system' then why would any defendant (innocent or guilty) have to get a haircut before going to court?  The fact that jurors will take irrelevant elements of appearance into consideration ANY AT ALL shows that the system might make HUGE mistakes.

Should a haircut play a role in a courts decision to execute someone? That is what is happening now. So long as that is true, it will take much more than ONE murder case for me to say someone should be executed.

I do, however, believe that convicted murderers should have to pay thier way in prison.

  3. In theory your idea sounds fair.  But in practice it often doesn't work well.

Not every accused gets the best legal defence.  And not all police, prosecuters, and judges do their work well.

It's hard to make the criminal justice system perfectly fair.  And given the fact that it never is perfect.  It doesn't make sense to apply the ultimate death penalty that cannot be undone, once a mistake is uncovered.

When the system is not perfect.  Then you need to leave some way to correct justice administration negligence and mistakes in order to be fair to everyone in society.

  4. I'm from Texas your execution has an express lane as they say.

But I really do agree if someone kills someone else with intent to kill them, that is very disterbing. I have been angry but never to the extent to plot outta a murder.

But yes I agree why should my tax dollars go to support murders so that they can get a free ride and an education in the big house just tom come out and possibly do it again.

I have to share with you something I heard on the radio this morning. Not only are our tax dollars buying there food, but if you live in California they have now installed CONDOM machines in the prisons as an experiment to keep down the STD rate in prison systems.... Yeah thats where I want my money to go wrappen peentoos for the prison banggin.

  5. YES we share the same thing here, just like you we are paying taxes eating up checks then paying accommodation of these people ending up  in jail for years for their punishment.

BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN AN EYE FOR AN EYE, but to some an eye for an eye makes us all blind. In truth, yes it is, but in these world we live in, THERE ARE PEOPLE who are evil, that is why we have the phrase: EVIL MEN DO...to others. Those who take another life should be executed but who those just rob and steal yes the prison is for their temporary home but for those who rape and kill they should taste the wrath of men by 3 things lethal injection, gas chamber and electrocution.

  6. No, that's taking the easy way out. I say forget these prisons with good food and water. Dig a big trench and toss 'em in, with bread and water for the rest of time.

But I think that counts as cruel and unusual punishment. ;)

  7. I don't think they should. Our justice system is flawed. The Bob Macy, Joyce Gilchrist incident destroyed my faith in the justice system. Those two thugs put many innocent people in prison just to obtain a conviction. The problem is, as Oklahoma County DA Bob Macy put lots of people on death row. The chances are fairly high that our state government has excucted many innocent people With that said, our justice system needs a serious overhaul. If there is the chance that one innocent person has been murdered by the government then there needs to be some drastic changes.

    Check it out for yourself...

  8. Not in every single case but most of them.

  9. correction: you are paying for murderers and rapists to sit in jail and get free meals, beds, housing, cable, schooling, trades, weight rooms, libraries, clothing, etc. What you are NOT paying for is for them to be rehabilitated...so, yes, they are more likely to be doing it again if they are ever released...what could they possibly do once leaving prision with a record, no life or job skills, and no rehabilitation? There are thousands of ways we are wasting money on inmates. It shouldn't be summer camp. It shouldn't be easy. I don't think murderers should be released from prision. But I also don't think they should get any prividleges. The reason jail is not a deterrant is b/c it is so easy and everything is done for you. I also don't think killing people teaches that killing people is wrong. -Ghandi

It is similar to our torture policy. Seems great if we get valid information. Yet we don't get valid information AND we prove that we are not going to follow the basic rules of civilized conflict....If we won't follow them, then why should anyone else be expected to follow them? If we kill people, then we are sending a message to others that killing people is justified in some circumstances.

  10. Actually, you're wrong. A lot of those convicts DO get regular jobs. Thats what your paying for with your money ; education, therapists and other things to assess their minds and find a way to fix them.

I don't think they should be killed. Because sitting in a cell the rest of your life, living with what you've done to a family, and the world is worse than death. A few days in there and most people try to kill themselves. Ever wonder why they got rid of shoelaces in jails? That's why.

  11. It just depends on the extent of the murder(s).

  12. no i am totally with you. i believe the same, only if they meant to kill. (murder, not manslaughter ).my dad is a cop, and most of our family believes that criminal scum should die or go somewhere were we dont pay for them. its good enough that they did away with the electric chair and firing squad, now they die of a wimpy letheal injection.  did you know that theres a small prison somewhere out west in the desert and the warden makes them were pink uniforms, sleep in tents, and spend more money feeding his dogs than his inmates?

  13. No they should be tortured

    Death is easy

  14. If you take a life, yours should be taken from you! tick for tack!

  15. No, people that commit murders should not be killed. You are not wrong for thinking that, because many people think the same thing, and the truth is that some murderers do get the death penalty. I believe that there is an island or was an island where they used to keep all the prisoners and bad people.

  16. I actually believe that criminals should work in factories and help the economy.  Why not give them h**l on earth b4 giving them the actual h**l

  17. NO, you aren't.  It costs so much to house an inmate, and more and more are being senteced to life without parole, causing a huge problem with prison overcrowding, and further draining our tax money.  There are so many jobs that they could do in the free world if they weren't a security risk, but they aren't given this chance.  I can't totally say that I believe in the death penalty though, mostly because of how it is carried out.  Not the lethal injection part, but in court.  Studies show that more minorities are sentenced to death, and people that commit the same crime can get different sentences.  I think that there should be a certain sentence that you get for a certain crime, it shouldn't be up to an individual judge or jury.  I sit on the fence on this issue, but I do understand both sides.
