In New York, it is now illegal to smoke in public places. As a former smoker, I have mixed feelings about that but I can tell you this; walking into a restaurant in another state that allows smoking in the building is absolutely disgusting.  I can't stand the smell!

I agree it is disgusting but did you know there has only ever been one PROVEN case of lung cancer caused by passive smoking? If you want to stay away from harmful chemicals i suggest you live in a bubble and never go outside because air pollution causes a h**l of a lot more problems for you than passive smoking ever will, look at the increase in asthma in recent years.

oh yes!!!! Was once in a resurant and a guy at another table was smoking a pipe in between every course.  It was so disgusting it put us off our food.eiowwwwww

i think so too!it is a disgusting practice and it is also selfish of smokers as they are only interested in looking out for their own interests and not that of others.Poor childre's lungs that did not ask for it.If the smoker wamts to maintain their ugly and disgusting habit,they should do it some place else!

The way I see it, smokers harm other peoples health, non smokers do not, therefore smokers should not be allowed to smoke in pubs etc.  People who are pregnant, or who have kids, or just general non smokers should not have to stay at home because there are ignorant people out there blowing dangerous chemicals all over us, and our food, they don't seem to take anyone else into consideration.
