  1. There is a difference between needs and wants. Too often, the two are confused. The people whose "needs" are not being met ought to evaluate what their true needs are, and what their wants are.

There are folks out there poeple who have cell phones, flat screen televisions, and fancy cars, yet are on the public dole. I would wager the farm that if you took away their government handouts, they would forget about the fancy car, cell phone, tv (wants) and spend the money on food and shelter instead (needs). So the question is simply, people need to know the difference between needs and wants. Then all things become clear.

  2. Whatever happened to providing for your own needs? Whatever happened to taking care of yourself? Whatever happened to taking responsibility for yourself, for you yourself providing for your own needs and the needs of your family?

Oh no, we have to have big government strip its blouse, expose its t***s so whiners who can't or won't provide for themselves suck to their hearts content!

  3. I do too.

  4. Needs like food, medicine and housing? Yes, lets drop those, okay?

  5. In some cases I agree with you. However lets take my case for example.I am 41,never got a college education...its a long story as to why,but the short version is that it was beyond my control at the time.So I decided to take the lemons I had and make lemonade the best I could.I took a job as basically a janitor at a large company in my town, there were not alot of options where I was.I worked my way up the foodchain and in 7 years was the second in command for my company,I was doing pretty well, not getting rich but making a decent living. One day I come into work and the owner is there,he calls us into a meeting, and says that he is taking the manufacturing portion of the business to Mexico, and we will receive a nice severance package. After a year of trying to find a new job I am out of money and there are no jobs,so I move to another town.Work is readily available but pays nowhere near what I made before and everything is more expensive,so I take the best I can find, work my way up and it happens again.I am now 35 and starting over for the 3rd time.I find a new job, work my way up,and they go out of business...so I decide its time to go down a different road.I now have a fairly decent job, pays ok but offers no benefits.I end up not feeling well for several months and finally save enough cash to see the Dr. and have some labwork done, they find that I have something in my blood that indicates cancer, but no idea where,I have no insurance so I have to save to get tests done.finally They narrow it down and tell me what I need to do.Of course I cant afford it so I do nothing.I am still in this boat as I write this.I need to have part of my body removed but it will cost well over 30000,I make too much money to get medicaid, and if I quit working I will be homeless.I spend about 700 a month on my medication, after all is said and done before I buy my meds I bring home about 1400 a month.I have rent to pay(450)which I have to have a roommate to pull off,I spend roughly 250 on food, during the winter my electric bill averages 200,so I have fallen behind on that.So I guess what I would like to know is,which need should I drop?

  6. amen, brother....................................

  7. Yes, some people need to realize that they demand way too much. And what they consider "needs" are luxuries or special bonuses to pretty much everyone else!
