Question:

Do you think people wrongly blame Police...when it's really the Cities, Towns, County & State Government?

Too many times police are asked by bureaucrats to do their dirty work, such as writing tickets, fines etc. They are being told to find petty violation to raise money.

I would venture to say most Police would rather catch drug dealers, robbers etc...rather than giving tickets to soccer moms who went 45 in a 35.

In fact I would bet they hate this. Just ask yourselves do you believe a person became a cop because they have dreams of writing a citation for putting 3 cans of trash instead of the 2 can max our town has & enforces.

It's not them...it's the cash strapped city & state officials.

The NEW seat-belt law in our state has rasied 21 million in fines, deaths, wrecks and everything else stayed about the same as before...the thing that changed was 21 million in NEW money the fat-cats can spend

that's what I think..................am I wrong?

  1. Yes I agree.

The Governments make the Laws and The Police Enforce them and get the bad end of things.

  2. Theres probably a lot of truth to that.

But all to often, Police can be jerks when there's no reason to be.

The other day, I got full our arrested for possessing a little rinky-dink air soft gun from wal mart. They aimed a gun at my face and said they had to act as if it was a  'Deadly Weapon'

    Come on!

They really CAN be jerks some times, but Im sure theres good cops and bad cops.

  3. pretty much nail it give yourself the 10 oops you can't ....Ok Ill take it

  4. I see where you're going with this and, generally speaking, I agree with you.  You are basically saying that political leaders should have law enforcement spend more time on serious crimes and less time on trivial matters.

The only place I might tend to disagree with you is about drug crime.  Drugs, prostitution, gambling, speeding, etc. etc. are all VICTIMLESS crimes.  There is no real victim, therefore they should not be crimes at all.  Now those who disagree with me, will say there are victims, and then go on to list how these things might INDIRECTLY relate to a victim of some sort.  But I don't agree with their logic.  If you want to INDIRECTLY link thinks to a victim, then you could go about criminalizing just about anything.
