  1. Yeah....the more people in the world the more people to take care of...even if they did it would be muy expensive and it would be something that would have to be taken alot. Those jerks could be the otherway around and want people to live longer so they can make profit

  2. It's an absurd proposition that seems to have gained wide popularity among the ignorant. It's a serious mistake to think that technology can fix all. Already, the treatments we have rather than helping control chronic disease often just give people license to bahave even worse than they would without the treatments. People with diabetes and high cholesterol feed on Big Macs and Cokes (not Diet!) in doctor's office waiting rooms, and mothers with vomiting children sit in emergency rooms feeding the kids potato chips.

Medical and pharmaceutical technology can do a lot, but it'll never cure stupidity.

  3. No, as long as they can profit off the cure. For example if the cure is a drug, they can charge outragous prices for it.

  4. Not quite. Scientists will always want to produce a cure. If they come up with one their WILL be a market. Whoever doesn't supply that market will miss out on the profits. The pharmacutical companies are fine with providing a cure, but they will make it ridiculously expensive, put the scientist under an outragous contract, limit supply to increase demand and only supply to the wealthy individuals that can afford it. They don't care about even prolonging the life of the poor let alone curing them.
