  1. Overall plastic bags are much "greener" than paper. The amount of energy expended to make a paper bag is much higher than it is to make a plastic bag.

  2. No, why would they be wrong?  What constitutes "wrong"?  They are a useful, cheap product that improves our daily lives.

  3. Yeah I think everyone should use there own bag

    BYOB

  4. I think that plastic bags are bad because they are made using oil.  I thought we were trying to curb our foreign oil dependency.

    BYOB!!

  5. Magnus is right, its not the bag that is "wrong" its the people using the bag. So, people = wrong. (not all people)

  6. No. Only when selfish, lazy and arrogant people litter them do they become a problem, in my opinion.

  7. No. I think they have many uses. Since most people don't recycle, paper bags aren't that great for the environment, IMHO. I think we should stop all the logging and turn to hemp as a solution to our paper needs.

  8. they make good trash can liners...they come in handy when picking up dog p**p...there are thousand of uses for them..and thet last longer than paper bags

  9. yes i do but paper bags are bad too because they cut down mote trees forthe bags but in some cities there banning plastic bags

  10. Purchase a cloth bag? Those germ catchers? No thanks. Besides plastic bags make good waste basket liners.

  11. Yes, I don't think they are the right item for the job they are asked to do. They are usually light weight, so they can't carry much. Being light weight also creates the other big problem with them, they tend to blow away, causing a huge litter problem. They aren't cheap, it is more economical for the store to have customers reuse bags than give bags out free. You as a consumer pay for them with higher food prices. They are made from petroleum which could be but to better use. They don't biodegrade, they sit in landfills for 100's of years or they blow out into the world and break down and get ingested by wild life or entangle wildlife, or just pollute.

I can't wait till CA bans them completly.

  12. clothhh baggsss allll thee waaay!

  13. Plastic bags can conserve resources if they are reused for other household purposes and then disposed of properly.

  14. What I think is wrong is that they don't throughly research before decades after using these bags and as usual they are only telling us these things now because they wouldn't be getting the supplies as before. So they need us to change to meet their demands....Everyone would stop eating meat if they told us eating meat was like drinking clorex and told us what they feel would be enough to stop us;like 10,000 6 eyed cows shipped to our neighborhood markets....They always set us up before convincing us to reform.......I call it; The Governmental RollerCoaster Rides.....What's next after they are tired after going green, what will they find wrong with the decision in going green?Blessings Yahoo

  15. No, plastic bags are not wrong, what is wrong, is the current way of disposing of them.

  16. It's not the bag itself that's wrong, it's the way that people are disposing them.

It's much smarter to resuse cloth bags.
