  1. They already are.

  2. I would say yes, because i read an article about it. The thing is, unlike pandas, not many people are doing anything to help.

  3. The last I heard their population was large and not falling. So no, they are not endangered.

  4. I think polar bears should be the first species listed as endangered not because of their numbers, but because of the significant damage being done to their habitat.

With each passing year there is less-and-less arctic ice forming.  This is shrinking the polar bear habitat, destroying their hunting grounds, and making it significantly harder for them to reproduce.  Lilly M's snotty little answer is ill informed and out right wrong.  Two of the links below demonstrate this.

Listing them as endangered means we will not only have to act directly for the species, but on Climate Change as well -- a very daunting task.

Hopefully if we begin acting now and aggressively we won't have to face other species becoming endangered due to Climate Change.

  5. Why?  As much new snow and ice that has formed in the artic this year alone?   turn off mtv, and cnn, and educate your self.

  6. Yes, it is a mammal and born cute, therefor it needs to be preserved. More genetically diverse creatures, that aren't as cuddly should be ground up and fed to the polar bear.

  7. Yes. The ice in the Arctic is melting away the home of polar bears. People also hunt them down for their skin.

  8. They are already endangered species.

I heard reports that since the ice caps are slowly melting, polar bears tend to have less "land" to walk on. This means that water becomes "wider" since distance between "ice lands" will be greater. Therefore polar bears have drowned due to lack of land to rest on.

  9. Yes, more so than some stupid tree frog, etc.

  10. yes,its a pleasing animal to see & so it should not become extinct

  11. Only one species of polar bear is on the decline. Some are actually getting bigger and most are stable. So...no.
