  1. i hope not.

  2. Nothing is private on the internet.

People often think that if they take extreme positions, behave badly, stalk, abuse and so on, it doesn't matter because they are 'anonymous'.

Well, guess what ~ we are not 'anonymous'. Just because an ordinary user (as most of us are) wouldn't have the ability (or interest) to track information about other users, does NOT mean that experts can't, or that they don't.

And just because today those same experts are not employed by employers to trawl data and detect evidence of anti-social and potentially problematic behaviour does not mean it will never happen.

Or, maybe they are already doing that? Well, we know they're checking for terrorists ... how hard is it to make that definition just a smidge wider?

You might also like to remember that yahoo handed over information about users to the Chinese government, on request.

    Cheers :-)

  3. i would be more concerned about the government snooping into our answers than employers.

  4. I would be forced to live in Somolia if that was the case.

  5. Hang metal coat hangers around your house to divert satelite navigations.

Nah brother, that is private and cannot be used. Facebook and Myspace or Bebo users are more at risk from employers as that has alot more personal information than an animated avatar and some name.

  6. You've got nothing to worry about...  unless you're actively telling your future employers that you're a heavy Y!A user, and also giving out your email address and username...  AND your employer actually caring about a site like this (which they most likely wouldn't).

The fears of employers searching Facebook, MySpace, etc. for scandalous behaviour are completely overblown if you ask me.

In any event, it might even take a court order for Yahoo! to hand over that sort of information.  They're pretty good about protecting the privacy of users.

  7. Baba's right, you know.

You DO need to wear the tin foil hat.

Everyone should, lest how could there ever be any real safety!

    Think of it.

    Intrusions!

    Aliens!

    MICROSOFT!!!!

(Baba, when you're right you're right.)!

  8. Just don't use your real name or pic.

  9. I'm screwed then.

  10. I think it's part of the pre-employment background check.

  11. Yes.  You need to wear your tinfoil hat to protect against that.
