Question:

Do you think pregnant teenagers deserve welfare?

Honestly I think that they don't. It's about time that the mother and and father start thinking about supporting their child. I mean it was their decision to have s*x and it wasn't a very good one. So why do they have the nerve to live off the government expense without working? They did something wrong and they should pay the price and suffer the consequences....

  1. I think that they should, as long as they were the victim of being kicked out of their house and need housing and a way to get their schooling done.  Sometimes girls are conned into s*x without protection and sometimes they are raped.  The ones that get pregnant on purpose shouldn't, but how do you judge them, they're so young that at that age almost all choices you make are mistakes.

  2. Okay first off, they aren't living off the government.  Welfare goes after the father of the child, so she is living off of him.  Which in my opinion probably isn't such a bad idea since he may have stranded her with the child.  Welfare works through child support.  The only way it wouldn't is if she doesn't know who the father of her child is.  And they don't work because hopefully they are finishing high school.  Tell me as a teenager, do you think you could do high school, work enough to support your child, and take care of your child?  Of course not!  Besides law says they can't work more than 20 hours a week, and minimum wage jobs are the only jobs they can get, so that is nothing.

Yes it was a stupid thing to do, but the child shouldn't suffer.  Leave them alone and at least give them a second chance to better themselves and become something to be proud of.

Tell me, have you ever made a mistake in your life?  Yes you have and I bet you would be very greatful to get or to have gotten a second chance, especially if it was something like your future.

  3. I think you should do some research. Some teenagers make fine parents, work, pay taxes and contribute to society, this is the exception not the rule, I know. But I think you shouldn't judge people until you know their situation. The help is for the child, not the teen parents, would you prefer that these teens don't get the help and don't feed their children.

  4. That may be fine and dandy in your eyes, but why make the baby suffer?

Yes, they should grow up and get a job, but what about school?

I don't agree with teenagers having s*x and getting pregnant, infact, i can't stand it. But it happens. And as some are fortunate  to be able to stay with their parents, some are not and need help.

  5. If you take from a teen for not working then you would have to take from all the adults who don't work either.

  6. Well if the government is going to take my money, it might as well be used to better the life of a child.

  7. nope i hate people on welfare taking all our money cuz there lazy h**l no>>>>>>>.

  8. i see your point of view, and i strongly agree with you, but what if the girl got raped or something like that?

  9. You have not thought this through very hard have you? It is not the childs fault the age of his/her parents. Just because they are young doesnt mean the child shouldnt eat or be clothed. Think about it buddy!

  10. The baby shouldnt suffer for its parents stupidity. Also the grandparents shouldnt have to suffer either by supporting a new mouth to feed and clothe. I agree with WIC and Food Stamps but I think you should still work.

  11. No they should not, they have to bear the burden of raising the child they made. When I managed a Little Caesar's I had a 16yo who had twins and she couldn't understand why I didn't like the idea that she was on welfare. Her b/f had 12 other kids running around and paid nothing for any of those kids nor  her kids. I was not the guy that had s*x with her why should I support her kids. Yeah, the kids are going to have a not so good life, but the parents  would bear the guilt for that, not society.

  12. No, they should not get a free ride at the expense of the working people.  They should be forced to work, and if they refuse, then the child or children should be taken away from them. Then, if more and more teens see this happening more and more, a lot less will think that having a baby is a way to make a living.

  13. what gives you the rite to say that having a baby at that age is wrong???   whats the difference of having a baby wen ur  18 or 16 there isnt none some 16 year olds are more mature than college students and yea everybody deserves it only if they really need it

  14. It sickens me that teens think they can get pregnant and expect everyone else to bend over backwards to help them (be it their parents, the government, or whoever else). Personally, I think teens (especially the Dads) should be FORCED to work whether they find a job on their own, join the military or get sent to a work camp to pay off their depts to the government and to society. The government should be doing everything in it's power to scare the heck out of these teens about the consequences before they even think about getting pregnant or fooling around.

When I was a teen, our s*x education went into serious detail about the consequences of sexual behavior, especially without birth control or a condom. My parents made it clear that s*x before marriage was a real no-no, and I shouldn't even think about getting pregnant unless I was prepared to be a slave for the rest of my life to this child. I had enough babysitting jobs to know that kids aren't always the caring loving types when it comes to their parents, and can be a pretty big handful.  Scared the c**p out of me!

If a "mistake" is made, a child can be given up for adoption to a family that can afford to raise the child, the couple can get  married and Father or Mother can get a job. If there isn't enough income, subsidized housing and child care, food stamps or temporary support can be given, but only temporary. If the child cannot be cared for by the parent without having to depend soley on the government, I think the child should be taken away from that parent.

Sorry, but I don't believe in paying for other people's mistakes. They make a mistake, they should take responsibility for it themselves!  I am already sick of people who take out large depts for houses, cars or lifestyles they couldn't afford to begin with and now crying that they lost everything and want the taxpayers to help. Sorry people!!! You should have known better!

  15. I think it's unfair to punish someone *forever* over one mistake.

At that age they are probably not mature enough to fully understand the risk and consequences.

I'm sure you aren't perfect, but your mistakes didn't lead to babies that you couldn't afford to look after.
