I think it's false that aliens have made contact. If they exist and want us to know they exist then why are they not making contact with people?  I don't consider supposed abductions to be contact if they are true because the abductees supposedly don't remember the event at first.  If they're out there and so advanced why don't they let everyone know what they're up to and not just the government?

Well, answering *your* question, yes, it is true.  Ed Mitchell has been courting this UFO thing for many years.  All I have ever been able to see is that he bases his belief entirely on what other people have told him.  I think he believes what he says and I also believe he is tragically mistaken.  His belief, along with Gordon Cooper's, has understandably misled a lot of people.  One would think that an astronaut would have a very rational view of this matter, but it appears that poor Ed doesn't.

There is absolutely no reason to believe this nonsense.  There are no aliens within light years.  I will cheerfully admit I am wrong about the nonexistence of aliens when I meet one and check for hidden zippers.  I will also accept a ride in an alien spaceship as proof, but I will demand a blood test for hallucinogens before I admit I was wrong.  Demanding proof for wild claims is called being skeptical.  Try it.
