I don't have quotes but she is a young girl who finds her way in a very harsh world. She experiences unrequited love, dangerous love and challenging human experiences at the age of about 15.

Maybe in the way that Griet ends up falling for the correct man. She's faced with a strange attraction to Vermeer, but ends up falling in love with Peter who is available and able to love her back.

But who knows. I wouldn't give this as a Christmas present to my 10 year old Christian niece or anything.
