  1. i hope but it is doubtful...by choice, i think in 5 -10 years we will be forced to live shop and dine environmentally conciously, for there arent that many fish left in the sea, your grandkids wont even know what a banana is, and frogs are becoming extinct, these three examples are totally different from eachother, but all boil down to the same thing, too many humans, not enough space or resources, and to amny polutants in our oceans and fresh waters. in 5-10 years i hope we even have food to eat, let alone individually wrapped and boxed and packaged everything under the sun like we do now, i have a feeling things are gonna change drastically, but only time will tell

  2. People will remain "green" because we will get used to doing things differently than we are now. Also, the earth will still be healing so therefore we will still continue to practice "going green." Many consumer products will also be more environmentally friendly as many companies are changing the way they do things.

  3. Once you go green, it becomes a way of life.  It's like when people first started using seat belts.  It was weird at first, but now it's hard to imagine not doing it.  It's more about raising awareness of the consequences, and that changes a person for good.

  4. going green would probably goes along as not being racist and not being sexist. i think in the future it would be a norm, people would do it without the need of consciously think about it.

  5. its not a trend!

its not a fashion statement, this is serious. we only have one planet.

  6. I think that the people who do things because they wish to appear "trendy" will tend to loose interest in the green movement, at least at first... until environmental change begins to actually effect them personally... In the long run I am fairly sure most people will become interested in going green, because it will be to their advantage to do so.

As the environment changes, and the scarcity of oil drives the price of fuel and energy up,  more and more people will  jump on the green band wagon out of necessity.

Ben Franklin coined the phrase "necessity is the mother of invention", and I would add necessity inspires people to search out solutions to problems that arise in their lives. As gas prices continue to rise, the world will become "bigger" once again.  More people will be walking places or riding bikes instead of driving as a matter of economics. It is remarkable how much farther a mile is when you walk it, rather than drive it. People will find that it saves money to grow some of their own food and vegetables. People will find that buying food from small local producers is less costly than spending money to have their food shipped in from distant places. This in not a new thing actually, it has always been true, we have been fooled by the convienience of shipped food, for a few years, because cheap fuel made it seem easy and afordable,  this is an illusion.

The nature of necessity is to instruct man.

  7. Great Question!

I think it depends on why a person decided to "Go Green!"

Many of the people doing it now WILL lose interest, because they are doing it for the wrong reason.

Then there are people who aren't technically "Going Green", Like me. I have found that since I have had children, I have gravitated toward natural, non-toxic or less toxic products and methods. I buy healthier cleaning products, organic/locally grown food, we buy less un-needed items to save money. We have 2 cars, but neither is a gas guzzler. We have one income, so we have to budget. So some people aren't following the "trend", some are trying to be more responsible in their life and life choices.

Then there is the 3rd group, who is discovering the Green Movement and will follow that life long passion and it will encourage some while driving others insane! But they will believe in it to their very core throughout their life.
