  1. there is too low a percentage of people out there doing it to make a difference.and no i don't.

  2. very much so i recycle and so do my kids

  3. Yes, I definitely recycle.  It slows down the damage we are doing to the planet, and it is one of many many things we can do.  Shopping locally, reducing what we use, reusing what we can, and composting or recycling what we need to dispose of.  Besides, it isn't any harder to recycle something than to throw something away, so why not?

  4. Yes of course it is and certainly I recycle.  It costs me nothing and it means my children and theirs will have more resources (including land unspoilt by landfill) for the future.

The planet is on loan to us from our children etc and we need to reduce our consumption, reuse what we can and recycle as much as possible if we are to pass the planet on to the next generation in a reasonable state.

Those who deny this need to examine whether they are motivated by selfishness.

  5. Not me.

Does anybody actually follow those recycling trucks to see what happens to the trash you give them?  For all you know it's all going to the dump with everything they collected the day before!

Plus, just think of the benefits to the environment  if we took that second fleet of energy-hogging, pollution-spewing trucks off the road!

    Save our mother.  Quit recycling.

  6. every bit counts

    every move makes a difference

    recycling wont harm u

  7. I recycle not because I am terrified but because I can, why should we just keep taking from the earth when we have the ability to reuse??

Its cheaper, safer and could possibly help us all in the future.

when you recycle you are helping other companies to buy recycled products paper plastic ect and cut their costs which come round and make the item cheaper to buy.

It just makes sense to use what we have instead of wasting it in a dump where it can not help anyone.

  8. yes.

  9. I think re cycling is helping to line the pockets of our local councils & China. we export our waste to china then they export our rubbish back to us in the form of crappy consumer goods.the rest properly ends up dumped in rivers .

  10. Yes and no. I've been recycling since the first Earth Day 1970, including initiating, participating, designing, setting up markets, etc.  Markets vary, and always will according to the dictates of market demands.  Most items from the manufacturing sector have very viable markets. Corrugated (uncontaminated), wood pallets & metals (including aluminum) recycling pay for themselves. Other items vary, mostly due to the biggy of collection/transportation costs, but also processing costs, contamination issues & distance to markets: i.e. cardboard, newspaper, mixed paper, separated glass, plastics.  In some areas of our country, saving landfill space is VERY important, because siting new landfills and/or expanding landfills is very challenging and costly. Most garbage collection fees DO NOT reflect true costs, and therefore homeowners have no concept of what our American garbage generation rates per capita (highest in the world last I checked) cost us locally.

As for the NO part of my response -without supporting purchasing recycled materials in products, we miss the mark because simply put - more demand brings down costs.  Many don't realize recycling, reduction and reuse was required of us Americans to assist our winning WWII.  As more of us participate in the 3 R's, the more it becomes a standard in our society.  I will continue to support and participate in all of the markets I can, including Household Hazardous Waste programs, because I know its the right thing - for many reasons.  I hope you will too!

  11. Of course helping.More you produce artificial matters(specially non-degradable)it will harm our earth.Again, who the heal loves artificial Rose gifting his dear???

  12. I think it could help. I recycle aluminum and copper. The rest goes in my dumpster. When I get money for paper, I will recycle that too.

  13. Recycling is a sham to rip the taxpayers out of 8 billion dollars a year. paper and wood comes from tree farms, and we have enough landfill space to fit our garbage for the next 10,000 years. lies...lies...lies...
