and young has a great rush game but 9td and 17 int last season he needs to improve his accuracy.maybe its lack of receivers?

what do you think?

  1. Yeah i think an extremely strong arm is a category that is overplayed in the draft. whats more important is vision, accuracy, and pocket presence. The most obvious case is Russel who will never become a premiere NFL QB. The strength of arm will develop in a young QB during his time in the NFL. They just gotta hit that bench-press.

  2. one name. ryan leaf. absolute CANNON for an arm, but people figured out he couldn't roll to the left and we all know what happened to him. same for a little remembered qb named michael bishop who was drafted by the patriots a few years back. could throw, run, and looked like a new McNabb, but just didn't have the qb intelligence factor and never became anything.

  3. No, Brett Favre and John Elway both a have rocket arms. JaMarcus Russell is still pretty much a rookie because he hasn't even played a whole season. He has had only one career start in the NFL. Accuracy is important for a QB, but when you're accurate and have a weak arm like Chad Pennington, you won't be able to win games.

  4. An NFL QB needs a strong arm but if that is all he's got he'll never be more than average at best.  Same goes for these guys that come out and all you hear is they can run like a deer.  The bottom line for a NFL QB is delivering the football accurately and on time.

  5. Yes, because how often do they throw 60 yd passes?? Hardly ever.

  6. yes.  what good are attributes such as arm strength when you lack intelligence?  this is the NFL, not college.  the NFL requires a lot more studying at the QB position.  look at Vince Young as you used as an example.  he scored a '6' on the Wonderlic Test, which is considered 'illiterate.'  it also happens to be the record for the lowest score in the history of all players that have taken it.  as you mentioned, VY has not done anything since entering the league.  so, what good are attributes if you are not smart enough to manage a 2 minute offense?  not too valuable.

  7. Yeah are they accurate smart mobile or just a bomber.
